How did the rims look on the balancer?

Glad they've seen the road for the first time in um almost 4-5 years or so.

I'm blasting the Galant rims you had pictured and we will see what color/treatment they get when everything is all said and done.

They're not bad. SLIGHT wobble, but it's hardly noticeable. Most of them needed a fairly large weight, lol.

Either way, I love them. They're the perfect fit for the car the way I see it in my head :). Thanks a million, Tim!

205 50 15's on the rear with those rims always left me saying, " Dat Ass", when viewed from behind.

Just looks right.

I will refrain from thinking or saying anything along those lines, as long as you are seated in the car.

:butthead:

I tried to install the GT spindles/rotors I have here, but the axles bound up when tightened down. I am REALLY not sure what the PO did, so I left the elantra rotors on, and installed the stainless lines I got. My caliper lockup issue seems to be gone, so I think one of the old lines was collapsed internally. This is my DD, so it can't be down while I sort out axles/spindles.

Snapped another boring driveway pic on Sat, since it was super nice out :).

I also bought a DD project that should show up on tuesday: a 2002 Subaru Forester S. Manual, LSD rear, full service records from new, and it passed emissions last Aug :). It needs a bit of welding, and some general TLC, but I'm pretty stoked. Now I need to source some WRX springs/shocks, lol.

For anyone interested, an AWD starter worked perfectly in my car, lol. I assume it was AWD anyway, that's what I was told.

I got stranded at the gas station on thursday morning by a sticky starter solenoid. I got bump started, but I wasn't about to take a chance on it, so I went to the shop and grabbed a used one from the box o' junk. So far so good.

Your car with the 1.6t and mine too. My factory 1.6t starter got doused when I cleaned my engine bay with the head off and the starter dangling by the positive wire, errr strapped up nicely on the firewall. ;)

I've confirmed In another thread here that AWD starters from this generation, not 2G DSM, are interchangeable. KM210 of F5m33, or AWD from a 4G6X platform are all the same.

My starter oy had two brushes that were still making proper pressure, the other two got seized in place.

I just welded in the bung for the wideband, so where did you drill through to bring in the wiring from the engine bay?

My gauge is on the driver's side, so I just ran everything through a grommet on that side.

Man...I need a cupholder, bad! I went out at lunchtime today and decided to stop at Starbucks. Had to drive back to work with one hand, which isn't hard, but dangit...I wanted to put my coffee down, it was HOT!

First tank of gas: 9.5L/100km (~24mpg). I think I'm having too much fun with part-throttle boost, lol. I know I can do better than that :).

I use the compartment in the back of the center console to store my drinks. flip it up and you can even fit a SUPER BIG GULP in there hehehe

That's what I've been doing, it works great! My wife is pissed because she has to carry her own drinks though, haha.

So, the neon rad I'm using in my car is faaaar too thin. The fans run constantly, and it's not even warm out yet. Today it decided to puke all the coolant out, but luckily I was in a parking lot of a grocery store when I first saw it get a bit too hot, so I was able to enact repairs. I had the fans jumped while working, so it cooled down nice and fast, and I went in to get some distilled water while I waited. Everything is good again, and no damage done.

I can't take the chance it's going to do that again, so I ordered one of these:
Image

It's a Yonaka 90-93 Integra rad/fan/shroud setup, and they're on sale right now. It's the same width as the stocker, but a bit shorter, which is no problems. It'll hopefully help keep my car from overheating, again. I'm also going to be be dumping my current FMIC (which is in front of the rad on the pass side) for a proper FMIC or even a SMIC. I may even go IC-less and run water injection to cool the air charge, haven't decided yet.

evo 1-3 rad bolts right Into to stock colt brackets, hose outlets in correct spot and everything.... I get the Chinese race ones that are full aluminum. (cheap price, still work great). (ziggy at RTM racing stocks them, BTW do you buy from ziggy at RTM???)

only thing they don't have is a bung on the bottom for the fan sensor, I got one welded in for around $20

I had considered it, but Yonaka is local to me, and my buddy's shop has a long relationship with the owners...so the cash discounts are quite spectacular ;). No shipping, I just drove over and picked it up :).

Punctured a tube in my new rad  . I've used JB Weld to fix that sort of thing before, so I hope it works again. I also installed my 650cc injectors and s16G, since why not ;).

I'm also doing what I swore I never do: I'm cutting my bumper rebar for a FMIC. I'm going to box it in, which I guess should help...but I am still uneasy. I have a FMIC from a Saab 95 Viggen, which is pretty thin, so I may not have to cut much out of the plastic.

Image

It's the perfect width :).

If your radiator is pooched, I have that new Koyo unit kicking around.
Top hose fitment would require a sleeve of some sort, but it's a proper full length rad.
Shiny black, and fitment for stock fans, and sensors.
Your about the only person I could sell it to, cause shipping would be a biznitch.

How's your tune now?

Everything dialed in yet?

Fuel pump and wiring upgrade to support the new turbo? AFPR?

It's not pooched until I give up trying to fix it, lol. I've got JB Weld curing on it now, and it's worked in the past, so we shall see what happens. I like this rad, so I'm going to keep trying. The tune is pretty well done now, since I swapped back to the stock ecu a few weeks back. I had to alter the evo 8 maf comp settings slightly, but my trims are great now.

Fuel pump/wiring/afpr were all done last year, so the only thing that will need doing is clutch. I expect my stage 0.5 61T won't hold for long.
