Hey everybody. I figured it was about time I finally bring everyone up to speed about my latest project. It's an original 92 GS sedan. I bought it off my friend Cheaptalon when he bought Tonus's hatch. The plan for the car is cheap, light, and fast. Here is the current/planned mod list:

-stock 6-bolt 4G63nt longblock
-turbo intake cam
-2g mani
-rebuilt ghetto 18g
-o2 dump
-3" downpipe to a mix of leftover stock evo exhaust parts dumped before the gas tank
-FIC 1050s
-walbro 255
-Megasquirt-II v3.57 with 4 bar map
-Innovate lc-1
-1g trans with taller 5th
-act 2100
-1g smic with custom piping
-kyb gr2 with cut 1g awd springs

The car will remain stock down to the wheels as far as the exterior and the interior has only the exterior shell of the upper dash, console, door panels, and seats. No heat, no radio, no wipers, no power steering, no crash bars (just metal brackets I made), no carpet, insulation, or unnecessary trim. The goal is to run a 12.9 or faster and/or trap 120+ on drag radials running E85.

Currently i'm waiting to borrow a friend's cherry picker to get the engine and trans in and then I can get the intercooler and exhaust portions finished. I also need to wire up my Megasquirt harness and wideband and then it should be ready to start up and start tuning!

I approve this thread. But your goal should be 11.9 or faster.

Your cars interior sir is pure sex. Rumor is your car is less than 500 made....ever.. You change out your seats out for spearcos, or put a big tach on the dash, and its the ban hammer for you! Cool car though!!

No way this thing is staying as sleeper as possible. The seats are in good shape and pretty comfy too! There will be a boost gauge mounted in a block off plate I made for the hvac controls and thats it. I also painted the floor grey to match the rest of the trim so it looks a little more finished.

It's funny i'm the one with lower expectations than all of my friends. Hopefully i'm wrong and it's faster than I think.

Well i've torn the whole engine/chassis harness apart in an effort to have only what is needed to run the car and shed some more weight, still sorting that out. Let's hope I can still make it run.

In the mean time I finally got my new flywheel and correct starter plate so I could get this thing together and in the car.

Finally in.

And started mocking up the intercooler piping.

It doesnt look like much yet, but I got most of the engine harness together. Just need to do the 12v and fuel pump connections and wire the wideband. I'll worry about making it pretty once it runs.

And it looks pretty much just like it did a year ago now.

I'm just waiting to have a couple bungs welded and then it's time to grab the laptop and some beer and try and get it running. I'm hoping to have it ready for Shootout.

It runs! Finally got it fired last night, set up the wideband and got it idling. Gotta swap turbos tonight and focus on the tune so it's ready for Shootout next week. I'm pumped now!

Wow just realized how long it's been since I updated this. A lot has happened.

First this happend back in September.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n63SKbCGAs

Which we originally shrugged off as thinking it was a simple headgasket.

Until I finally got motivated in January and took it apart to find this.
Image

That's #3 piston. Still unsure if it was a sticking injector or some sort of pre-ignition fault. Injectors were sent out to be cleaned and tested and came back ok. Replaced all ignition components as well to be safe.

Started collecting various parts to upgrade including this WH1C (8-blade HX35).
Image

And fast forward to last month when all of the new goodies started piling up and I finally got around to making it a car again. This was the result as of yesterday when we fired it up for the first time.
Image

Put about 40 miles on last night doing some low boost 18psi pulls and it's already pretty ridiculous.
