well here is the start of it back before they added the build section..

http://www.4g61t.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=26327

I havent really done much since then except rewire the whole engine bay harness..deleted alot of the wires...

because yahoo dropped geocities a few years back I lost all my pics from the engine build and stuff.. so figured I would start a new thread since im starting to work on getting the race head and turbo installed in the next few months.. then working on the awd finally... so on to it..

first off.. BIG props to chris. 89mirageman for alot of my parts to do the front 5 lug brake conversion with elantra LCA's.. 2 piston brake calipers that he rebuild and painted for my.. got my fresh rebuild hubs back today they will get painted this week so they will be ready to go.. just need to get some rotors and pads then the swap begins..

fist off I thought I could be good like chris and paint something nice... HAHAFUCINGHA...not a chance.. he is a god when it comes to cleaning and painting stuff.. here is my attempt..

this is my dumptube...going to also be doing intake..valve cover and all ic piping this color..itws the candy blue.. to many people use the purple so I went blue.. think it will look nice with the white car

Looking good so far man! Just sand and feather edge that pipe and repaint it and you'll be good. I always grab a few rolls of wax paper from the dollar store, its the perfect thing to lay parts on that aren't 100% dry.

That is a good shade of blue.

too really get the blue into it you have to let the manifold soak overnite in a bucket of carb cleaner then rinse/wash with hot soapy water and air blow dry, then paint it when done you shoot some clear over it and it looks like its still wet after it dries, but your not a wall tagger dude so we understand, but looks good any way, glad your making progress

machine shop cleaned it spotless.. I did 2 coats of base color... and 2 coats of the candy blue.. then 3 coats of clear... on both the pipe and the intake.. I am not into making my car fancy just fast.. so this was a trial thing for me lol.. im still not sure I like the intake.. i want it all to look like the wastegate.. but if not ill go all black and race it that way lol. :axe: :finga:

so I installed the front dsm big brakes today with thanks to moidsm1 for loaning me the big rotors and some 5 lug rims untill I can afford my own..got the elantra LCAs installed also.. reamed out the top of the dsm knuckle for the tie rod end to sit on top pointing down like the stock colt does.. took all of 2 min per side lol...while in there I noticed both my sway bar bushing that mount it to the fire wall were completely missing.. so I yanked it out.. now to find a elantra one to install.. looks pretty nice sitting in there.. also I took a pic of the front kyb/agx fronts where I put on some cheap 40 ebay coilovers.. it actually rides pretty nice.. rides softer than with the eibach pro springs that was on it.. I was shocked..once I get the exhaust system fixed so I can lower the car ill put the rear setup on to test it out.. and post pics.. for now heres the front end.

and yes when I have the wheel on..and sitting on the ground the spring sits down on the bottom.. next step is to cut the strut so I can lower it more...and make room for some bigger tires.

small update.. picked up a awd auto trans and a few other parts for my awd swap..

also just picked up this new treadstone ic..its larger than the 1 I have now.. so it will be a easy direct bolt on.just need new ic piping as its 3" and current is 2 1/2.. it supports up to 1000 hp (supposably)..got it from a local guy here in town.
