Here she is in all her current miserable glory. In the weeks to come I will be doing a ecu swap with tons of rewiring to get my 1g ecmlink stuff to work with the car. Also I'm in the process of locating a 2g awd stuff for the awd conversion, I basically need every thing!

Didn't these come awd with the turbo v6, across the pond? Those are pretty cool. What rear end you going to use? Also aren't these in the same configuration, as the 4-9 evo's, where the t belt is on the pasager side. |

Yeah its pretty rare to see these swapped to awd, but you would not believe how easy it is. You have to make to small cuts into the body from above the trunk to access the upper nuts holding the rear into place and pull all that junk out. Then you basically just bolt the 2g stuff in, it's really a peice of cake. Even the 2g gas tank can be used if you weld in new tabs for the tank. The hardest part of the install is going to be making a carrier bearing bracket. And the elec is also if not the biggest issue, these cars use a 2g style wiring harness and are obd 1. They even use the 95-96 2g style cas. Its weird the car has both obd1 and obd2 diagnostic plugs! whe3ls > Yea these were offered as VR4's with a v6 twin turbo, and I'm on the look out for a complete 2g lsd rear (manual) and subframe. The motor in it is a 7 bolt 4g64 with everything being almost exactly the same dimensionally as a 4g63 etc. Also the 2g suspension peices are all nearly identical too. not mine but for reference.

Nice project! This is actually one of those rare Mitsubishi's that I haven't had the chance to own yet. Although I did find one in the junkyard a few years ago and stripped some of its parts. Keep us updated and take plenty of pics. |

This is a first for this site  I'll be following this one for sure.What is the weight on this to start out? I'm going to guess slightly more than a 2G AWD. |

Just chop a carrier bearing mount out of a 2g and weld that into place. No fabrication required. Will you have to make or modify a driveshaft? I expect that it is longer than a 2g but it could be awefully close. |

Yea the option of reusing the center carrier bearing off the 2g is the way to go, but I'm goin to fab up something for the rear mount. The driveshaft doesnt need to be modified either, crazy huh. Seems like this car was meant to be AWD!

Does the suspension look like a 2G? They could be like Avengers and use all 2G FWD bits. Wouldn't surprise me. |

Your exactly right, same as 2g fwd in the front. They are also identical to the avengers and close to the 2g fwd in the rear with the shock being a little shorter making the difference. |

My Friend Mitch has one he's staying fwd though. Check out The Galant center, I used to be active there it's a pretty cool forum. ( Had an 8th gen) Here is his 7g   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6HPPivhe7s That was the initial start up, he has a tuning and dyno date on April 8th |
