Finally swung that engine into the Scummit last night. The front and rear engine mounts had taken a beating from the previous engine so they had to be replaced with good 'ol Prothane urethane inserts. 13-501 for the front required cutting around 6mm worth of material from the inner surface of the inserts along with "bending" the bracket from the engine block to accomodate the thicker mount. 13-506 for the rear required a washer to make up for the steel bushing being about 2mm too short.

While installing the urethane roll-stops I noticed the crossmember they are mounted to was very "wiggly". The rubber bushings holding the crossmember onto the car had also taken a whoopin' so I removed them and welded in pieces of pipe that fit nicely into the holes of the crossmember but also had a nice snug fit for the steel inserts that once lived in the rubber bushings.

The timing and transmission mounts will be left as stock rubber bits. My aim is to have the engine firmly in place without the change-rattling and ass-vibrating discomfort of completely replacing the rubber mounts with urethane.

Shaun, I was looking around the Build section a little bit today and I was JUST thinking about this car after seeing a few other sedans in this section. Do you have any updates for us? I don't know why but I've been thinking about this car a lot lately and I'm really starting to get that itch back.

My wife and I were talking last night and I got a job offer from a friend that works in the oil industry. He told me that if I can study the book and get my CDL that he would pay all of my fees to get it and he would get me in with him starting at $80-100k a year...to start. I told her that if all goes well with this opportunity that I'm going to get my hands on either another Colt or a DSM again and she actually agreed with me.

Anyway, I was just taking a stroll down memory lane for a few minutes and dropped in to see if you had any updates on the old girl. I'm really happy to see that she's being taken care of and that she's in really good hands.

Arctic temperatures and time constraints have the current re-build going slowly. The engine, drivetrain, turbo and exhaust are in. Major items left to complete would be the brakes, I am upgrading to dual piston 2g calipers and rotors, fabrication of the oil cooler lines, engine wiring, cooling system, intercooler and charge piping.

Selling it! $1,650 or make an offer!

Doesn't run right now BUT that will change REAL fast. Just needs brakes and charge pipes installed.

What's different:

Re-built 6 bolt 4g63t with weight-relieved rear balance shaft and deleted front shaft. ARP head studs, King bearings, Felpro head gasket.
eBay exhaust manifold.
MHI s16g.
Hahn Racecraft Super O2 Eliminator.
Full 3" exhaust to the back bumper.
Doesn't have the Rota Slipstream rims anymore, but Enkeis which can seen in the pic below. Keep in mind these Enkeis have an appropriate back-spacing, so they aren't identical to the pic.
GVR4 twin-piston brakes with brand new rotors and pads.
Vista spindles.
Re-built socketed ECU. Work done by ECMLink.

My basement looks like a parts warehouse. If you ask real nice I will probably let you take almost anything you want with the car. I've got stuff sitting on shelves that I forgot about 5 years ago.

Car lives in zip code 45211; if you want to come get it before it runs and drives feel free to make an offer then show up with a trailer.

Also! The car will come with a very nice dash and OE white with red stripe bumper that will not be installed.

Car looks the same as it did in the one-hundred and twenty-two pictures found in this thread.
Have a buyer that is very dedicated so right now I am not willing to sell seperate parts. Sorry!
