Memorial Day weekend. I had a chance to do something that I have not done in a long time... Road Coursing at Grattan raceway. The event is called Alpha Romeo owners day and even though there were not too many of these cars there, it did attract a bunch of other vehicles, such as GT500 mustang, old Boss 302, sti's, Mr2 , z06'S, a DSM, porsches, VWs and even some De tomaso's and last but not least, was my buddies 1968 Volvo which I did a bunch of suspension work on. On our way to the track Sweet Tomaso Pantera anyone ? The poor car ended up in the sand during one of the runs kick ass alpha with a supercharger Even a damn Nascar which tore it up The colt and the volvo I was very surprised on how well the colt did, the car was very flat, granted I had to be in the 4000 rpm range because of the size of the 3065, but it was slightly tail happy once in boost. Braking on the colt was also surprisingly good for a simple system. Now for a short video ride along in the my friends volvo... Just listen to those twin Weber carbs, this car is soo mechanical- there is something to be said, about vintage racing, the feedback and joy that it can bring, heavy handed words could never express or describe Enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHNUMgpfkXg |

I agree. Carbs rule!! My old 69 beetle with the 1835 and dual weber IDF's, though not blistering fast, sounded sooooo good when you got on it. |

Glad to hear you and the family had a good day out. This car (along with a few others on here) is special to me. I remember this build from when I first joined here many years ago. Awesome times BTW! |

Pulled these last week on one of the hottest days of the summer I believe. It wasn't fun at all but you gotta do what you gotta do right? Can't wait to see them on the car. Also you did get the rear mounting brackets and bolts too right? They were in a bag in the box. |

You are right man. I've said it before but when I first started learning about these cars they were all over the junkyards. Now I know of 1 hatch and 1 sedan that are severely stripped already. Parts are not getting any easier to find, that's for sure. Great job on patching yours up though, probably stronger than stock now. |
