Had a little bit of time last week, to install the front mount, this is a 10.5 inch race FMIC from ets ( used to be on jeremys car) .
Some shots of the initial mark up

Next up was the intake manifold with some of the trimmings on it, i.e rail, coil pack and the additional vacuum points that were tapped into it. Nothing fancy here, just a 199x intake manifold with turbo TB and ets short route piping.

and an engine shot
Image.

I have already finished the upper IC pipe to attach to the intercooler. I however have to come up with a creative solution for the lower .
More to come as always.

Pictures of the FMIC Bolted on . There was significant trimming, to get the intercooler to sit pretty close to the radiator core support. I ended up using some pretty thick aluminum to bolt everything up
Image

in the picture below , you can see the amount of metal trimming that had to take place
Image. Significant sheetmetal had to be removed directly behind the headlamp assembly.

I also folded the pinch weld on the radiator core support, so that the scirroco radiator could fit appropriately. You can see that in the bottom of the picture below
Image

here is a shot of the upper IC pipe attached the FMIC. I really liked the way it came out
Image

and last but not least a shot of it nice and tucked and undercover ;)

more to come as always

That is a nice looking IC setup. You gonna leave it black?

Agreed in that case. You would ruin it trying to get anodizzing off it...

thanks aaron, I appreciate it.

shaun, yes that is a scirrocco radiator. tonight I will bolt up the wastegate and all the couplers to the IC
as well as the Transfer case. The car should be on the floor tonight, so It can be rolled into the other garage for some welding ;)

stay tuned

happy thanks giving everyone,

I was able to do a little work on the car over the holidays, buttoned up some stuff in the front end, and after a long time, here is the car on the floor, with mostly everything done under the engine bay( mechanical wise).

a shot showing the fuel line out of the rear
Image
and a shot of the rear of the car on the ground
Image

Someone earlier asked about drupe distance, so here is a profile of the car , the front is lowered to the height that I want, however the rear will need to be redone
Image
Basically I will need to cut the extension pieces so that the car can be level. In the picture above I can not lower the coil overs anymore than they are

with the front mount done
Image

cameo shot with the other pile of junk ( if you look closely you will see the 3rd pile of crap also)
Image

So I Began working on the tunnel and is basically welded completely in. Here are some poor pictures of it , it was a long day forming and welding this in
Image
Image
a shot of where the cell sits,
Image

next up is some body seam sealer and paint.
more to come as always

I thought the rear would sit ALOT higher then youd want.. Idk why they welded that stuff on the rear hubs.. With lowering the shock towers, it should have been fine.

Looks good. making alot more progress then i am. :finga:
