I have had my GSX since I was 16, it has gone through countless turbos, trannys, and tires but believe it or not the motor I bought it with is still running strong. Currently it is a turnkey 11 sec car and just sits next to the house waiting for me to take it out haha. It originally had a 16g on it but when I was 18 I was working in the Oil Field so I put the holset setup on there. The car has been In Sport Compact Car mag as a readers ride along with DSMtuners 08 Calendar. Here is a mod list and a couple pics and vids.

Motor:
160k mile bottom end
hks 272 cams
arp head studs with mls gasket
balance shaft delete
gates Kevlar Timing Belt

Turbo, intake, exhaust:
Holset HX-40 7 blade
BEP t3 .70 a/r Turbine housing
ebay t3 mani w/ 38mm ext.
Tial 38mm wg
3" v band downpipe
3" downpipe back with Apexi n1 Muffler
ETS 2.5" stainless Intercooler Piping
gmaf w/ translator
4" filter directly on turbo
Manual Boost Controller

Drivetrain:
Act 2600 pp
Act street disc
4 bolt rear end

Tuning:
DSMlink v2
aem wideband wired to ecu
Autometer Boost gauge

Exterior and wheels:
Viper red Paint job done by me in Highschool
92-94 tails and bumper
90-91 Talon 5 piece spoiler
Rx-7 fd wheels painted bronze
Nitto nt555r Drag radials

This pic is after its first paint Job. The top is no longer red it is black now. The intercooler is diff also. This is the pic that was in Sport Compact Car. March 08

I still have the issue that this car is in. I laughed at the 3M Windo-Weld engine mounts. Typical DSM tomfoolery.

I have been trying to 100% everything but there is so much still to do but yet im so close to done!

Whats left.

Driveshaft
Intercooler
rear floor replacement
mount new seats
bleed brakes
bleed clutch
add all fluids
wire in stock maf plug for maft
hack bumper for intercooler
fully bolt in crossmember and motormounts

gonna need brakes son. i overheat those unvented discs like i overheat ladies, quickly and without trying :snakeman: :partyman:

on that note, my brembo elantra rotors showed up in the mail today after i got my gt brake booster yesterday, building better brakes for these cars is super cheap. :D

I got my drive shaft Friday morning and worked over the weekend on getting it in and done. The front carrier was easy to build but due to the way I measured to get my drive shaft length the last part of the drive shaft tunnel had to be cut and a mount built. After I built the mount I re tinned the area back in then sealed the top and bottom with seam sealer then paint.

The drive shaft is pretty straight with just very minor angles at each u joint. I hope there are no issues with this.

This is the front carrier bearing mount I used the existing exhaust mount for the passenger side and will cut the drivers side exhaust mount so a 3 inch will fit

The driveshaft I got with my AWD Colt had only one carrier. The rear portion of the shaft was one solid piece made by a local driveshaft shop. I do not think the angles on the shaft will have any ill affect.

I got the car done enough yesterday to be able to take it out and drive it. All I can say is wow this thing is NUTS!! even with this 16g at wastegate pressure it pulled like a mofo. I realized yesterday how much work this beast still needs. The rear is too low and I stiffened my konis way too stiff, The bolts on the Driveshaft where the cv joint is located are tapping the bottom of the car (needs a bit more clearance). it still has no floor, a loose battery, no fan, no exhaust, no ebrake, barely any gas ect haha. I am loving the new seats I put in it too, they are much better than the wore out originals. I only got to put 4 miles on it before it started raining like a mofo.

Here are some teaser pics til I get some more progress and videos uploaded.

Well guys it's been a couple years since I've been on here to really give an update. I feel as though I owe it to you since my last pics were from a couple years ago. Since the swap I have gone through 2 motors and a hand full of different turbo setups trying to find what I liked the most.

It had a 16g on originally then went to a bolt on HX 35 setup with the tired old motor. It kept smoking pretty badly at idle so I tore it down and found broken ring lands on 2 cylinders. Im guessing this was from the fwd days when the car had a 16g and a hks vpc. The leaner I turned it the faster it went hahaha we all learn somehow. Anyway I put a fresh motor out of my 1g that I ran 11s on (2g 1g combo) and the same HX 35 setup and went low 12s on pump and low boost. (24 psi ish) here is a video from last season. Sorry it's all I have.

http://youtu.be/NMX0yWvQIaM

I decided to make some quick money last winter and swapped that motor and turbo in a 1g shell I bought. Sold quickly. It was a maui blue 94 tsi. So I purchased a few goodies that I will share shortly.

Current state of the car as of 8/11/14
