I was given the cooler from jaysmirage. So free. It came from a v6 hyundai. It had nipples for regular hoses on it. We cut off the nipples, welded the two -6 fittings in its place, then took a 3/8npt male to 1/8npt female adapter I had and welded it where the temp sender was going to be. So this is not an off the shelf piece.

The car is back to tip top shape. I did have to retune the thing even with the new fuel filter. Not sure what changed or what happened, but I am guessing the ignition issues were masking a lean condition. And while driving tonight the tranny temps were below 70*(as low as my gauge reads). So the thing is doing its job. Air temps tonight obviously helped being 32*.

For now the car stays.

The car does heat soak very bad with the little FMIC. From a first gear roll tonight it would go from 55*-145* by the top of third gear. Which in turn would make it knock badly. Same IAT's from a second gear roll and there was no knock. So maybe this winter I will have Extreme Turbo Systems build my another intercooler. They did a great job on the custom one I had them build for me in 2006, so I am certain they could handle it now.

You don't get any attention from cops with that exhaust?

Nope. You drive like a normal person and they don't care. Been to cruise ins with it and the colt where the cops sit waiting on the ricers and they never said anything. I had one cop tell me you know that is not legal. I told him I did not build it to be legal. But, I don't drive around like these other guys racing all over the place. He said fair enough, took a look under the hood and went on his way. I was parked and he walked up after I pulled in. They really don't care here. They have real criminals to worry about, unlike the Communist Union of California.

Here was the colt.

Wow, I have a much smaller FMIC and my IATs never went higher than 130* over the course of a 1/4 mile run on hot days (around 75 degrees ambient). The entirety of my core is exposed though...

I doubt it. This thing is only 20x6.5x2. It is made by forge motorsports, but I think it is a tube and fin core. For $50 it works as good as what I paid for it.

The cars are worthless. Does not matter. Especially when the non turbo cars are the same. The car does not even have a turbo anymore. The front end is now fiberglass, the fender is another stocker, hood was patched and has lexan windows now. Not to mention all the metal inside for the cage. Each hole was for a reason.

The sedan looks much better than the hatch. I bet it is a fun car to tool around town in.

I agree. I love the Lancer GSR's. That was my main inspiration for buying this car.
