Just been collecting all the parts i need to get my 91 champagne back on the road and rippin it up

Just picked up all new timing components... and got everything together needed to get her going.

SPECS:

-low km 6 bolt/ 4 bolt combo.
-14b w/ ported 16g 7cm turbine housing
-ported o2 housing
-7cm GVR4 exhuast mani
-GVR4 cams
-1990 air cooled oil cooler setup
-Punishment racing FMIC kit
-MBC. (18 psi)
-hacked 1G mas with SS intake
-Greddy Type S BOV
-Full 3" SS tigged exhuast with magnaflow muffler
-Walbro 255
-KYB AGX
-Eibach sportlines
-Full working R12 A/C
-17 inch rimz

should be a nice car once its all fixed up and running again!! I cant wait!
Hoping to be able to run low 13's in it or high 12's. (12.8 would be nice :) )

here is some of the progress so far:

UPDATE:

Did some more work on her tonight. I decided since i have everything apart now is the time to do some "mods" and porting to the 14b. I had a blown 16g sitting around so i took the hotside and swapped it onto the 14b.

Here is a pic showing the difference in the small 14b housing opening compared to the 16g housing i put on.

So then i grabbed a old 1G o2 housing i had laying around and decided to do some mild porting.

took the step out of the housing and took out a bit of material as well. comparision pic to a stock 1g o2.

here is the porting i did to the o2 housing where the wastegate port is. cleaned it up pretty good!

heres a shot comparing to a stock o2. not a huge amount of material out of it... concentrated more on the wastegate porting to help boost creep.

And whats better then a 16g turbine housing on a 14b? a PORTED 16g turbine housing on a 14b!! (just did very mild porting... took the most material out around the flapper, again to help fight creep.

I took a bit of material also above the flapper to allow it to open up a little more if the diaphram will allow it to.

here is the engine ready for the flywheel/clutch and transmission and to be dropped into the car.

A 14b with a 16g housing, with plenty of other supporting mods, running 25psi of boost on 106 leaded race gas took my 2,600lb AWD Colt to only 13.1 at 104. Granted I was granny launching to the tune of 2.0 60' times. But otherwise the car ran strong and all shifts were fast and smooth...

and yeah as far as hitting 12's with this setup... its going to take some good drivin and a HARD launch.

im hoping for a 1.7ish 60... im thinking race gas as well and around 22-24 psi of boost if possible. will have to be a perfect run but i think its doable.

My car had almoast the same engine setup your's will have; I had a Cyclone manifold. And the ECU had no tuning done to it what-so-ever. I could have ran more boost if I wanted, but I ran out of time. That 14b blowing 25psi through the huge Greddy front mount I was running was just wanting to grenade. LOL

see i think thats where i might make a change....

im sure if i throw my socketed eprom ecu... ds map (Speed density) and a meth kit (pre-turbo as well maybe) along with a good tune it will really help out the 14b which will be blowing A LOT of hot air at that boost.

My buddy in a full weight 1G AWD hit a 12.9 second 1/4 mile w/ a ported 14b, 2G mas, FMIC, keydriver chip, old on demand meth kit with small injector running washer fluid (50/50). He ran a high 1.7 60'

its definalty possible with a good launch...

The meth kit will for sure push the entire deal over the top. Having a chipped ECU definitely helps too.

I like the way you always seem to be working on some budget build. Out of that awesome fleet you dont have one 400 plus horsepower car. Which is smart by the way, Waste of money in my opinion. It cost me 4-5 grand to turn my 12.9 into an 11.8 overrated experience. 12.9 is ten times as reliable and still kinda scary fun. Now i did that (12.9) with a 2550 lb car with a 1.89 60 foot 107 mph. You my friend have yourself a challenge.
I plan to try to run a 12.99 with my 93 sedan. Itll be running a basic free mod setup, maybe a fmic, and some slicks.

yeah my 93 colt coupe 4g63 is pretty much stock (stock unported 14b).. i have a mbc in it and maft/gm maf and a walbro and cheap FMIC kit with a K&N.

At like 2450 lbs race weight (with me in it (im 250lbs)) i managed a 13.2 @ 108 MPH w/ a 2.1 60 foot i think. This was on 94 octane and stock non eprom 1G ecu.. also on a engine with 250 000 ish km's on it and a long geared 1.5L tranny.

with some better tires and a sub 2.0 launch it would easily run in the 12's with the 14b.

the dsm is a heavy beast but with the big FMIC, ported 14b/16g turbo, eprom/dsmap and a good tune i bet 12's would be possible even without meth injection.

I guarantee you it can run 12's like that. I ran a 12.9 @ 107 with an un-ported small 16g, cheesy top-to-bottom FMIC, 550cc injectors, S'AFC, 2g MAF, and stock suspension with H-rated bald tires. This was in a full-weight '94 TSi AWD. 100% stock 7-bolt, totally un-touched. I was on 110 octane race gas, but can't remember what boost. Definitely less than 20psi. This was probably back in 2001 or 2002 sometime. I went back with more boost and better tuning and knocked-off a 12.3 @ 110mph and had a best trap speed of 112.97mph. I cut a 1.73 60' on those same shitty all-season tires and still on stock suspension. Gotta love 16g's!!!
