Thank you. When I get a little extra cash going I'll probably donate. All my free money goes into the car lol.

Recently I haven't got much done. I have all the money to finish the project, just none of the pieces I need in order to do so.

The most important thing I'm waiting on right now is motor mounts, atleast then I'll be able to set the engine and transmission back in.

I picked up a set of Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials last week, 205/50/15r. Those should help a lot when it comes time to put them to work.

Image

They were on a 14.xx car, no more than 5 passes. In my opinion they look just about brand new. I picked them up for $170 and I just can't complain.

Saturday I mounted the Intake manifold, coilpack, ptu, throttle body, Bobby did the timing for me with the Jay Racing Timing Belt Install Kit, I put the timing cover on, installed the waterpump pulley and crank damper, I also installed the forward facing oil filter housing finally.

Looks like hell, but whatever.

Things I need to drive the car....
-motor mounts
-passanger axle
-sending unit spacer(to raise the fuel pump 1/4" to give clearance at the bottom of the tank)
-battery relocation kit
-transmission fluid
-oil
-coolant

A few odds and ends, random fittings here and there. I'm getting really stressed out. I'm just over-stressing about parts not being available. 5 months ago I never thought I would get this deep into this car. I'm starting to wonder if it's going to be worth it. Only time will tell.

Today was interesting. John from REVSHIFT just picked up a CNC mill, but it won't be delivered until next week. I need mounts asap so I can't wait that long for him to get the mill, make molds, make mounts. So John and I drove around to a few places trying to find potential molds for the urethane motor mounts. We bought a glass vase, tried that, Didn't work out how we hoped.

The rear rollstop is unique in diameter from the other 3 mounts, it's a little smaller which made it even harder to find something to use as a mold. We ended up stumbling on the idea of a "canned food" can. Cranberry's to be exact.

Anyways, John mixed up a batch of urethane, went through the process, poured it into the cranberry can and this is what we came up with...

It couldn't be a tighter fit. No Joke at all, we pressed it in and had to use grease, it's not coming back out without brute force or a BFH.

Recently I did a vinyl job for a skate shop owner, and asked him if he could give me a deal on skateboard bearings to do the shifter bushing mod. He actually gave me junk bearings he had laying around for free, which worked out great!

I had John weld up two sets(4 bearings per set, 2 bearings per shifter linkage) One for myself, One for Bobby.

Needless to say, they came out great.

Also, not much of an update, but I got the first piece of my SD setup last week! The integrated cable from ECMtuning.

Sorry for the shitty pictures, I'm going to buy a camera soon damnit.

I saw the SD cable and was wondering what it was so I looked on ECM Tuning's site. I used to have DSM Link way before V3 but wanted more power so I went to an AEM EMS. I am very happy with it on my talon but V3 looks pretty sweet. I have a socketed eprom ecu already and was going to run an AFC but V3 Lite seems pretty appealing. I suspect that you are running V3?

The cable is actually for plug and play use of a
GM maf, it deletes the need for a maf transtlator. It does have inputs for SD sensors though, which is why I'm using it.

Yes I'm running v3, not lite though, the full version. Couldn't be happier with the setup.

Well, John and I went out and picked up some metal for my "sending unit spacer" today to give me some clearance, We didn't finish it, should be done tomorrow so I'll post some pictures of that up.

Then we had some lunch...
Image

Just kidding, actually we found out that the interal diameter of family sized spaghettios can, was almost identical to that of the 3 remaining motor mounts I needed. So we picked them up, mixed up some urethane, fast foward a few hours....

Front Rollstop

Timing Side Mount

I still need to press in the transmission mount, and we need to drill the holes for bolt sleeves. That should be all done tomorrow!

I just got this in the mail today as well

-6 Pushloc filter to rail kit, OEM throttle body gaskets, and Bobby's Oil filter.

Motor should be in sometime this week. I can't wait.

There is a black box on the timing side motor mount. 2 bolts. Anybody know what it's for?

They still have plenty of tread, I've put probably 200 miles on the street and 30-40 passes on them. So no worries, you got a good deal.

The black box as far as I know isn't for anything. :)
