So today im taking out the wiring harness from the eclipse, is there anything i need to be looking for? kinda looks like the heater will be in the way, do i need to use the eclipse fuel pump? I compared all the plugs from the eclipse to the colt and it seems the eclipse harness has alot more plugs on it, wich ones will i need? thanks

Ok i got the head off and pistons out, its on an engine jack now and can finally clean it off a little bit, now i have a problem with rust! 2 middle cylinders seems fine with no rust but the two end ones have little rust, and when i pulled out the pistons it seemed like it hadn't any oil in it and rusted? what could be the problem here, that the two end cylinders didn't have any oil, before that i took the oil pan off and found a METAL piece that had been beaten up pretty bad i couldn't find out what it was, so do i need to take it to the shop to be honed? and i have no clue how to install the new pistons to the rod but ill find out.

How long was it sitting? If it was missing intake/exhaust for a while it could have just got air/water in those two cylinders from open valves.

Oh that's probably the reason, but it looked like it had rusted for a while, it was sitting for like 2 weeks, how would i go about cleaning it, do i need to take out the crank,

Um, if you don't know how the rod and piston mate, you are best taking it to the machine shop.
While you are there, have them recommend what to do with your block. You will probably have to take in the parts either way.
It's nice to most of the work yourself, but it is another to learn with a high probability of failure when things are budgeted and leave a lot of room for error - Ie motor build up related to bearings, crank, cam, pistons, rings, etc.

That's probably what Im going to do, its much more safer that way, wish i had finish taken those automotive classes back when i was in HS, I can do most things just not experienced with these, How much you think they charge for labor

I just bought a rebuilt block with all new internals from a shop. The labor was $400 to do everything. It depends on the condition of the block and what they have to do to fix it. So expect something in that general area.

Hopefully its not over that price, Its gonna be a while becuase im broke :( over budget, had a family member passed away :(

i have rebuild my motor myself and it pretty easy to do and i still drive it work and back it has over 10k miles. i could tell you that pinston are press on. you need a machine shop for that.

good news! i can get my block cleaned for 0$ and install the new pistons to, Just have to balance it afterwards at the shop. My cousin works at the base and have access to most of the mechines :lol:

How much would it cost to balanced your engine. Also how would i go about cleaning up the head, do i have to take everything off? theres like dirt and stuff in there.
