Car is all stock I'm in the process of replacing the water pump and gas tank. The car has 200k miles on it. I was looking to do a few mod's. I'm only looking to spend about 600 top's on this car I will be doing all the work myself and tuning. Witch leads to my question what the best cheapest way to tune these car's and keep them kinda reliable. SAFC 2?
Thing's I'm looking to buy.
Used Evo3 16g
Injectors? unless I can use my 2g tsi ones they are 450's correct what's stock in the 4g61 380's?
SAFC 2
Evo 8 FMIC core.
I have a whole 2g talon so I will be using some part's of that for the colt such as the manifold and o2 housing. MAF and w/e else you guy's think I can use.
Thanks guy's hope to get some good info from you's. And maybe some used part's
Using an S'AFC is gonna be the cheapest way to tune it. I'd recommend investing a wideband, but that will put you over your budget. 450cc injectors are way too small for 250-300whp, I'd recommend at least 660cc's. The stock 4g61t size is 390cc. An EVO 8 FMIC will work well. A 2g/3g/EVO MAF will also work well, you won't want to attempt this on the stock MAF or even a 1g MAF. Make sure you upgrade the fuel pump too, a walbro 255 or something like that. You'll need to run race gas and a lot of boost to make that kind of power, but it's possible.
