Oh believe me man, I know how it is. It'll be warm soon though and you'll find some money somewhere so we'll be expecting an update.

i have a question on the front 5 lug conversion..... useing the elantra lca...can u weld/fill in the ball joint mounting holes and redrill them to move the BJ out farther so u can use the dsm axles(which I know are about 1/4 longer)? ... or would that weaken it to much?

thanks much

I've thought about that before and see no reason why it wouldn't work. My plan was to cut the section out that the ball joint bolts onto and move it out a bit and weld it back. Sounds easy enough but I haven't tried it.

Picked this bad boy up a few months ago. A few changes are in order.
The front and rear motor mounts broke when I launched it. I'm currently fabbing up a 2" tubular cross member. I'll post up with pictures.

Finished fabbing up the new cross member.
I'll post up install pics later today.

Everything bolts up great, clearance is a little tight but works. I used some tubing from a DSM cage I had laying around.
After doing this I decided I'm buying a new welder before I tackle another fabbing project.

Here are a few more updates.
I started mocking up the new setup, exhaust is made, front bumper has been test fitted.
I also removed the factory fuel line that was being used as the return and decided to use some -8 Black nylon line I had laying around.
Also I cut the fuse box harness and routed it through the fenders and on the outside of the engine bay. The goal is to hide as many wires as possible.
I still have to....
-Mount the radiator
-Mount the intercooler, ice box and lines
-Tap the fuel rail
-Install gauges
Here are a few pics. Please excuse the poor phone quality pics
