Hey Remy, can you tell me a little more about your radiator? I've been thinking of a custom radiator if I ever put a big turbo on the car. I like the full length core yet shorter height wise so it tucks under the radiator cross support so it can but mounted more forward towards the bumper like yours is. I see that its a dual pass radiator. How many cores and what are the dimensions of it? For a daily driven car I like this much better than a 1/2 radiator or VW radiator. Last question, where did you get it or have it made for you? I'm assuming its a custom job and not "off the shelf". Thanks.

@ Shawn: This is the regular radiator upgrade for our Colt's, Afco 80107N
Many informations about it on the forum, use shearch fonction.
You need to soldering a custom bung for water temp sensor like factory, and custom brackets.
An lower arm bar is a great improvment for the LCA effort link to the body with powered little car like our Colt.

Sweet, sweet victory for you my friend!

God it must have felt like heaven to sit in the car and drive around for the first time under it's own power since you took it all apart for the first time.

P.S.

I found your car on video, well at least in GTi form. Yes, it's German so a C58? versus your C53A.

Old video for sure ! :D

Feedback from the road test, i dont feel good the de-powered rack for the moment.
The Colt need an professional geometry i know, i'll decide after that if i keep this way or re-instal the power rack system (friendly with my mountains roads, many turns)

It's a pleasure to share my pics and detail about this build, i dont search applause or congratulation.
Only respect, 6 years back i knew nothing about EFI and turbo car.
It's a good way to learn and this forum is my high school

Thanks you Tim for your comments

Thanks you Cody.
I could update latter about the WAIC air temp performance.
But i'm sure about the minimum turbo lag procured with the short piping

Yes, very nice car Remy!

I'm kind of undecided on my depower steering mod as well. Its not real bad but at times it does get heavy holding it into a corner. Its certainly tolerable for a daily driver in my opinion but I'm not so sure for road course or track duty. I can see my arms getting tired quickly on a road course or doing a lot of spirited mountain driving.

@arrowhead : Thanks, the heat exchanger for the WAIC is mounted like a FMIC, see the pics on this page or back to page 9 for best response

@Shawn : Thanks also, i look already for an electrical pump from a Renault Clio car, french power steering pump are aprouved by many DSM and EVO users. Buschur make big money with this pump :D

I decide latter if i swap or not.
Remy

Bad update...
My machine shop has killed my head during the valve guide replacement, confirmed by my insurance expert in february.
Bad method used, cold head and press = metal disaster

Short story:
-The same shop has improved my 4G67 head without any problem in 2011
-After that, i spent maybe 30 hours of porting and polishing
-The same shop has milled , valve guide replacement, 3 angles job (with leaks the firs time) with new SS valves
-After maybe 2 miles of leaks test running at very low speed in 2014 december, a bad sound come from the top of the bloc
-Three valves guides playing up and down in the head
-After fighting with the shop, the expert has decided to refund me the working cost and imposed the shop to find another 4G67 head for replacement

I think use the stock 4G61 head for the moment, tired about this build finally 8)

Well, if you don't want to, or cannot find another 4g67 head with larger ports on both sides, maybe consider a 2G intake manifold or a Cyclone dual runner intake manifold that can be port matched with epoxy by lancerman (Jerry). Natedog had an intake done that way.
It will then mimic the exact port dimensions of the 2G head. That or mix in an EVO3 intake manifold because it has the high port velocity also.

Very sorry to hear that the tolerances were messed up with the cylinder head. I've seen all the work it takes to prepare and install a single part on these cars, so for you to have to take the head off again after paint, prep, and new gaskets .... this should not be happening to you of all people. I hope this doesn't take the car off the road for the summer.
