Hoping to get alot done this weekend. Looking at welders (Miller 180) and gettng measurments to get the rearend just right. The cage basicly has to be done at the same time as the AWD is stall. We've been making cardboard templates for all the plates that are needed. Most of the misc. parts I need I'm gettng from my local DSM buddies. I've been taking pictures.

The millermatic 180 is a great all round mig welder, you will not be disappointed.

I'll second that! One of the great things about that welder is the fact that you can add a spool gun to it at any time for around $200 and you're welding aluminum.

It's called the "Spoolmate 100 Series spool gun", and that has me thinking I'm about due to buy one.
I have the Millermatic 140 which is about the same, but it runs on 110V instead of 220v, and I can't complain about the machine, it's nice.

I had to "modify" two spots where the sub-frame hits ( everyone has to do this with the swap)
Image

I was waiting for some OEM ADW mounts but could not locate a set so like everyone else I'm making my own. These are 5/16 plate.

I welded them on sense I'll never unbolt them.

Shes still on jacks untill I drop the sub-frame one more time. Need to do some more welding of the mounts and drill two more holes.
