so here are some more pics and update, the cars is comming along well. Matt has cut out the rear are the driveshaft bump to make room. Basicly this way everything will fit without having the exhaust really low. The new metal is being bent and a main hoop for the cage is being bent.

I did something similar on the tunnel for my colt, just cut the sides and back of the rear part, left the front attached, lifted the rear almost 2 inches I think, made patches and welded it back up. It does give a decent amount more room for the exhaust and drive shaft bearings.

I see pics of the bottom of the cars you guys have in the states and makes me wonder why I still buy cars from up here. My colt came from Ontario and is a big rust bucket. :(

Yes this was a ZERO ruso car , one of the reasons I'm making it look as good as we can. I will have more pics this week I hope. More work has been done I'm just too far to go see it all the time.

Update : Well guys come next month my AWD project will have been at the HTP or three years and I feel it's time or it to come home to be finished. I have called HTP and let them know I will be picking up the car what ever condition it's in. I have to get this thing inished and they have draged there eet long enough. I'm using the extra money I have set aside to buy a welder and few other tools. I do have a degree in welding so no worries there. Too bad HTP could not get the job done. So I feel this will be a good thing.

How it could have taken them 3 years to attempt this swap is beyond me, especially when they have an entire shop and lifts at their disposal. My buddy did an AWD swap on his Colt in his garage with a $200 welder, hand tools, and a Costco jack and it only took him a few weeks from start-to-finish. I'd love to see this thing get done, good luck!

Ooh ooh ooh I know I know! It's easy; they just didn't touch it for almost 36 months. Same way mine is still sitting since December.

I have lifts and all that crap too, but I don't have the motivation of someone paying me to do it.
