So this weekend I picked up a 1990 FWD tranny. Jason and I tore it down yesterday and got all the parts we needed for it on order. Overall, it was pretty much worth the $200 and mileage I had to drive. Albiet a long drive. I could have just thrown it in and went with it. Just a few syncros and bearings to be safe and it will be in the car next week with the LSD insert I have had for three months now.

I also ordered a set of GR-2 struts for the front and rear. I picked up a set of AWD springs from mitsuman as well. This should help keep the little horse stable now. And give it a good ride.

After the third axle in two weeks, finally got on from autozone(small shaft though). Jason took the car for a test drive today and all seems good again.

I also picked up a Rev Hard T4 manifold again. I traded the last one for a GM MAF and translator. After a lot of mulling over, I will adapt the car to this manifold and sacrafice what is needed for the strength of cast. And I got this one for a steal. Brand new to boot.

In the next 30-60 days I will also be picking up a nice water/air intercooler. This is going to go along with me wanting to keep the car looking stock, as well as the core support sheetmetal. And in the process, I will be ordering a knockoff tial BOV. It is working well for a friend in a 600whp 2G, so I figure why not.

And last but not least. I am just a few weeks out(waiting for the next round of bills) from ordering my very own China GT45. It has the specs of a GT4294 compressor and GT4508 turbine. Can't wait to see what the 1.6L can spool it by. I hope I have at least a 500rpm window. LOL.

FIC 1150's are in. I am now at 22psi falling to 21psi. But above 6000rpm now I am having spark issues.
What are your AFRs? Try leaning it out.

This has since been figured out Dan. The wideband had a brainfart. Car runs fine now.

There are pictures under the member's forum Josh. Nothing has changed. I did put in the half size honda radiator this morning. But that is the only thing new under the hood. The T4 setup is slowly coming together. It will be pieced together and remain a driver until all parts are on hand.

Steven-

Let me know when you're working on that thing. I miss wrenching and would love to get my hands dirty again.

Damn. We put the new radiator in yesterday, and spent a few hours installing the new suspension. Should be assembling and installing the tranny either later this week or early next week. Just waiting on parts for the FWD tranny.

Daddy got some new toys.

In other news, the new FWD tranny should be done in the very near future and installed. And some updating has been done to the car to prepare the chassis. So far things are looking up.

Weighed the car last night and it weighed 2260lbs. That was without driver. I figure there is another 100lbs I would like to comfortably take out of the car while still preserving the chassis. Roll cage to commence after turbo install.

What has been removed to get the car at that weight Steven?

Roof liner, passenger seat, rear seat, trunk cover, all panels in the rear of the car, rear setbelts and the carpet. Believe it or not the car lost 200lbs with just that stuff. It weighed 2460 a few weeks back, as it has the whole past year I have owned it.

The dash is still untouched, center console in place, both front seat belts and motors in place, plastics up front under the car and in the wheel wells, bumpers and a lot of other stuff. Just removed most interior with panels. Rear view mirror and sun visors are in place for now. Car still has a radio and four working speakers.

Like I said, there is at least 100lbs left in the dash and some other things in and around the car. When I drop the exhuast I am sure that will cover fourty-fifty pounds.

Yeah, an exhaust system is pretty heavy. The one I pulled off from turbo to muffler tip was a pita to carry :D

I am 95% done with getting the chassis ready for the roll cage.

Weighed the car with a full(I mean full) tank of E85.

2200lbs on the nose.

2340 with driver.

I figure there is a good 15-25 pounds to go before the new turbo setup goes on. That is gonna add a little. You can definitely tell a difference riding in the car. You can tell the car has the AWD springs now. It is beginning to lose traction in second gear now. First will be a waste at any more power, but is just barely slips them in second. It did not do that before the weight. My car has just never made the torque to do so. Weight pseudolly increased my power. Yea baby.

Oh yea, I also relocated the wideband. Now I can see the display full time. I also cleaned the harness up the best I could and hid as much as I could. There is a few more things to do with that, but I am done for the day.

I vacuumed most of the dirt and stuff out. Now I need to wipe it down and get the 20 years of dust out of the car.

And to make the day even better, on my way down to Jason's to borrow the soldering iron, as my friend still has mine, I got to race a 04-06 STI. Needless to say that it was a whoop down. From a second gear roll at about 5000rpm to 5500rpm in third gear, I put a good three cars on him. Just a small hit in second, NLTS into third and then just a few hundred RPM in third to ensure he was trying. We raced three times with the same result. The last giving him the hit, and still came around on the 2-3 shift.

The run 14.0-14.2 stock up here with good drivers. He was not great by any means. But I pulled him hard while he was in gear. He was stock with a muffler. Probably a cat back or turbo back, but at least an axle back. I was never really behind to see up under the car. It wasn't loud at all. It was only when he pulled out in front of me that I saw a shiny muffler. That was enough to pick the fight.

I figure if I can have a miracle pass with no heat soak(still on the 11b hotpipe setup) I might be able to crack a mid 13 near 100mph if all the planets line up fpr me. The 100mph is definitely doable, mid to low 13's all reverts back to heat soak.
