Big. You have alot of pressure coming your way You have many, many pages on your buildup... people see what you have.. These are your local friends..But on the track...F" that. Get rid of what frusterates you.. pLEASE DO THIS. Go and stand in front of your car by yourself and stand and think...What doesnt work... What is borderline between going and staying.. What makes you happy. Spend some quality time and really think and ponder. Sit back and look at the overall picture. If you are going one direction, keep on path,, if unsure,, get rid of what gets in the way and dump it.

Rich

Wow... I sense some jelousy in this thread...

dont really see to much of a cluster fruit and banana of a car at all. in fact I think it looks tastefully done, go look at my build thread, im all about doing things tastefully and this looks fine...

Bosco ( d-bag) obviously has ZERO clue about LSR cars... LARGE cooling cells / and funky cooling systems are everywhere... The car is build for a purpose, Nick Suttons is build for a purpose. Just because its not YOUR purpose shows how of an ignorant of a dueche you are.

Bosco couldnt go to an LSR event, he's to narrow minded, because you will see some funky shit THAT WORKS.

keep your head up steven. we have the LSR studebaker coming back to town next week! ill grab pics.
Andrew.

I can see some of what Rich is saying though, he just feels there are some area's that Steven has spent to much time were he could make larger improvements else where...unless I also misunderstood what he is saying. I completely understand the focus part as well as Steven seems torn between competing with the locals in the 1/4 mile while building a car for LSR.

I do, however, think that LSR is really just an extension of 1/4 mi racing. A fast 1/4 mile car with a gear and tire change will rock in the standing mile. Bonneville is a different and I understand he wants to run the salt so a crazy cooling system is necessary.

There are always ton's of nay sayers until you either fade away, bitch out or prove them wrong.

Car is at 28psi.

Smoked dragstr4g61's hand me down centerforce clutch.

Got my coolant issues figured out.

New clutch to be installed next week.

Installed a really nice 2.0L head with mitsubishi MLS headgasket.

Stock head bolts torqued to 118lb/ft.

Maxed out the 1150's.

New timing belt and tensioner.

New front pads and rotors.

Almost ready to rock. Hope to run/test the car in a few weeks. She is laggy, but really fun.

I thought it was the 50 trim. But as I have said, I don't feel my engine has ever made great power.

I have been pestered to death this week about me racing Jared. I don't even know why. His car has power and math in all the right places. Mine is a big slow spooling turd. I don't think I would have a chance unless we ran them well into fourth and fifth gear. I would have to use a lot of rpm to chase him down.

Eh, the car made me smile, and that was all I needed. Its been a while.

The centerforce did slip on the 14b set-up. It dyno'd 206 whp/213 ft/lbs uncorrected...but the flywheel surface wasn't the best. After replacing the flywheel and doing the 50 trim, it dyno'd 308 whp/ 249 ft/lbs uncorrected when the clutch. That clutch is rated for 250 ft/lbs so it was right on the mark the second time. Steven's power band is so late it might struggle to make good torque....but who knows.

Season's here boys, time to see some races now that everyone has some big set-ups. Jared's just excited to get some races in, win or lose, he just want to race some fast stuff. STI's, Evo's and 600's are getting old, he needs some fresh meat and bigger game.

I had the flywheel cut straight and also resurfaced the pressure plate before it went in as well.

I am sure I am making good torque, but I am moving pretty well by the time it comes in, so it is not as bad as what a 50 trim would hit like. Probably still weak ass torque, but this thing will pull the big end like I need it to. I am just happy it is working togther. Just an intercooler and I am done with this motor setup. Unfortunate I am overrunning this intercooler this bad. I suspected I would when I picked up the holset, but it is damn near dangerous.

Soon enough we can see what the little tyke is made of. I have been having this craving for spider.

Ebay stage 4 XTD clutch is in. Centerforce out.

Took it around the block and everything went well. I will take it out tonight and see what else I can come up with on the tune. I hope this little guy holds. For $150 I couldn't go wrong.

I've been dreaming of spiders.
