Moving right along. Can you show us what you came up with for the front and rear mounts?

I already mounted the cross member but its just temporary.. when I pull it out to build the new one I will take pics..

basically I took the stock one and moved it over towards the driverside and it only has 1 bolt front and rear holding it to the car.. had to cut a notch in the middle to clear a tab on the trans.. used a stock 3g colt mount up front.. just had to drill new holes off to the side of the original ones.. the rear is well just put together lol.... I took a stock 3g cross member..(rear mounting point the holes are at a angle..the 4g there even).. this will work great for my new cross member tho lol.... anyways I cut the rear of the 3g X member off about 5" from the end.. then cut it about 6" long. so it has the stock mounting holes for the rear mount.. bent the edges down and welded it to the X member.. as I said its just temp to get the car going and registered.. hope to have a new one built by X mas time lol....

so I took some manual mounting brackets that bolt to the trans and cut them up to make some mounting tabs for my radiator.. got it mounted just need to take a dsm top mounting bracket and bend it 90 degrees so the rubber parts rests on the rad..and bolt it to the car to hold the rad in place.. also got the I/C mocked up..marked where I need to cut the bumper.. will get it mounted tomorrow. along with the trans cooler.. almost done under the hood then its on to the int wiring.

got about 2" of clearance between the exhaust and rad.. before I had maybe 1" ( I would say closer to 1/2" tho)

got the bumper support cut..I/C and trans cooler mounted..need to cut the bumper to fit now.. no pics of that yet..

but got my rear wheel adapters and put the 16s from the colt on the mirage.. damn 1" spacers lol.. i think it will look nice once the rear is converted so I dont need the adapters..

new gas tank will be here tomorrow..so once it is installed i can start the car then start checking all the gauges to make sure there wired correctly..

got everything but tires to convert the front to 4x114..will do that later this week then grab 2 used tires to put on for now..

im thinking about leaving the tail pipe on there..for the sleeper look.. I have a side exhaust system that dump in front of rear tire..

here is the "RWD drag race looking mirage" pics lol...

small update.

got the gas tank today and installed it.. car fired right up.. tomorrow I need to pull the exhaust off the colt and see if it will fit the mirage.(crosses fingers). then I can fill the rad and let it idle for a lil bit so I can check for any leaks... still need to mount and wire up the fan..and all the gauges.. then I can install the dash.

will get more pics in the next few days.

not alot to update. been waiting on some cast to buy coolant and 2 tires (should have them by this weekend). been messing with the wiring.. had the car running but cel kept coming on.. says tps.. so after doing a continuity test from ecu to tps the main wire seems to have a break in it somewhere so I need to pull the dash again and trace it down.. I did manage to mount my switches for the auto trans. they are just above the vent to the left of the gauge cluster. gonna make some pvc gauge pods for mounting the gauges. and if weather permitting it should be drivable sometime next week.

I have had such a hard time figuring out the wiring for this swap its crazy.. on my 89 i was done in like 3 days of messing with it.. its taken me almost 2 weeks on and off to figure this 4g wiring out.

here is the switches.. not much of a pic lol.

What harness are you using Steve? I make plug and play adapters for the 1g dsm harness to 4g so maybe I could help.

im not really sure.. I thought it was a 90 dsm cause of the cas/ignighter plugs. but some of the colors arent matching up to the 90 dsm pinout..so im thinking it might be a galant harness..not sure tho.

it runs..got everything spliced together last week.. just not getting continuity from ecu to tps so I think the wire might be cut.

thanks for the offer tho.. wasnt sure if u still made them or not.

also forgot to mention that for some reason the harness I have had the 5v sensor power going to the maf plug but not to the tps.. so I ran a jumper wire from maf 5v to tps..and BAM!!! it works .

Good to hear you got your 5v to the TPS.

That interior is a mess! But the shifter is sweet.

also got my evans coolant today.. so once I get brackets made to mount the seat and bleed the brakes I should be good to take a test drive down the road.
then if all runs good I can install the dash and mount everything.
