In my search for Rollbars, I found a company that would make a rollbar for the car, but they need the car for 2 days, and unfortunately are too far away from me. They're in Alabama. If anyone is interested in a rollbar and are near enough to alabama, the Kirk Racing Products will build one for you. Seems like a nice company to deal with. For what it's worth, if you go to http://www.ioportracing.com they list an autopower rollbar for the mirage. Here's the email that I sent and they sent back to me. > Can you guys make a 4point rollbar for a '89 > Mitsubishi Mirage Hatchback? Response: Thanks for your interest. I am sorry to say that we make bars for Starions and Eclipse, but do not currently have a pattern for the Mirage. The only option that I can offer would be to build one in the car if it were in our shop in Alabama for about 2 days. Realizing this is not always an option, please let me know if you need more information about this. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. I am not familiar with different types of rollbars. What is a 4 point? Are there more points? less points? |

Here is some good information. http://www.ioportracing.com/rollbar.htm "point" refers to the number of mounting points. A 4point rollbar bolts down in 4 places. |

Andy (owner of Rallispec) is one of the most talented fabricators anywhere. Keep in mind he is always swamped with work, and be prepared to be without your car for a while. However his work is well worth the wait. However, 1500 is quite pricy for a roll bar/cage unless it is a 10+ point cage. I just paid 450 for a 6pt cage in my Mirage from a local shop. |

I dont know how many points the $1500 roll cage was for. but if anybody is interested, I have a spare Colt Turbo just sitting in my yard, so when I drop the 2.0 in out of the Talon, & it can move under its own power, I wouldnt mind Andy holding on to it for a month or so. its gonna be funny though, 4G63 with 1.6 flywheel, PP, clutch, manifold, turbo, & exhaust. Hey, its just temporary. Just so I dont have to put the tow hooks on it to move it around. -vic |
