I am going to try to piece my old c50 back together, but this time with a 4g63t and with a small or big 16g turbo. Its missing some parts. It has the 1.6l rad, but no fan. What fan can i use?
I will be calling around local rad shops for what they have. Its been so long I dont remember what fits what.

For those who swapped to a 4g63, what rad and fan and thermostat housing did you use?

I used the DSM thermostat housing, 1988 Scirocco radiator radiator (dual core is less than 70 shipped on Amazon prime) and a single, quality 10 or 12" fan. Never had temp issues.

Thats reassuring. I can fabricate brackets, I just like the simple bolting on factory items.

In theory, look at Galant fans if you use a factory C53A or GVR4 radiator. See my build thread for details about all the radiators I have used if you want factory profile and minimal change in setup.

I do suggest trying the Scirocco (with or without AC - mounted IN the rad support area that the condenser occupies, or out with a condenser (needs some fab work)) or half size (but thick) radiators as pointed to above.

I have a 50mm Ebay GVR4 radiator that will go in soon, but I cannot give any comment to fitment of the top rad cap to hood clearance, or function, as of yet.
It is thick and makes alternator access and fan mounting (with a custom or factory shroud), a little bit of a challenge.

A simple "honda radiator" setup off ebay will get the job done, just make sure the fan has a CFM of at least 1000, 1200 to be 100% sure.

Okay, Thanks guys. I figured worst case I will go aftermarket and make my own rad supports.

Also using a stock radiator with stock fan and 12" pusher on the a/c condenser. Have a fmic as well but most of the ducting is still intact.

To add to this, the weather here is heating up and I experienced some overheating issues today. Started on the highway but doesn't matter after a little bit, it was staying over 220*. It would rise in traffic, cool somewhat while moving but still never recover. This all points to the radiator simply not being able to keep up with the heat, IMO. So it looks like the stock unit can not keep up in hotter weather, although if you don't see over 90*, you might be ok. This is with a/c on as well.

I've sense installed a turbo mirage radiator (OSC 234) which was about twice as thick with some Redline Water Wetter and 50/50 coolant mix. Temperature stays a little lower now and I haven't had any overheating issues sense then.

It looks like I will be using a slim fan. AND depending on which Stat housing I use, which will determine the rad. Right now I have a dsm Stat housing and So I am using the a dsm rad which has no rad cap.
If I can find a non dsm Stat housing without rad cap, then I will use the stock colt rad.

How come? Just use a mirage turbo or galant t-stat housing with no cap and oem mirage radiator.
