Hey all, Does anyone know if the 5th gear from the awd f5m33 is interchangable with the f5m22 (km206) tranny? Really need to lower my RPM's. Thanks, Luke |

Doubt it would help much. What you want is the 5th gear out of a w5m33, these will lower them. |

Ah thank you yes i mean w5m33. So to confirm it doesn't matter that it's a m22 not a m3X? The 5th gear can be swapped directly between a w5m22 and w5m33? |

I haven't been able to find anything that states they are on different sized shafts |

Spoke to a dude from jackstransmissions.com, he said "No unfortunately they don't interchange."  What a bitch! I'm along your lines of thinking though, i'd like to see this for myself but not worth the outlay unless I can find a km210 at a wrecker. Thanks for investigating.

Yeah, you can't do it. The 5th gear is physically too large to fit in the case. You might be able to do it if you got the end cover from a F5M33 and put it on there, but that may not fit either. |

I could be wrong but if a guy that worked on Mitsu transmissions on a regular basis told me it wouldn't work I'd take his word for it. |

Wishful pessimism but I agree MirageMan89. Thanks for the suggestion CaptainTonus. Think I might just try and find a whole KM210 gearbox if still possible here in Oz. Thanks all. |

I know the km210 wont take an AWD DSM 5th gear, the gear is wider, will fit in the case, but the shift rail wont disengage it. |
