for all you 4gxx ladies and gentleman out there....how the f*** do you take the crank pulley off with the motor in the car? i have the new style crank bolt that requires a socket, not just a half inch breaker bar.

first you unbolt and remove the complete tranny mount so its out of the way...

second you remove the DS motor mount.. make sure u have a jack under the engine with a block of wood (so not to damage oil pan).

once engine mount is out.. lower the motor till u can get to the bolt.

on a colt, i dont screw with the front/back mounts at all.. just undo the timing belt side mount and then the 4 17mm long bolts that secure the lower crossmember to the unibody... put a jack under the crossmember or a block of wood under the oil pan and use a lack to lower it down enough for you to get the crank pully to clear the frame rail.

While the motor is down to do the pulley removal, reorient the bolt holding the alternator so it comes out the opposite to the factory. Trust me when I say that the next time you have to change an alternator, you won't be dropping the motor down to do so.

Haha. Your about 2 weeks late on that one. I had to sawzaw the factory bolt off and go to the hardware store and find one close enough to match. Believe me I was pissed!!! Lol
