While my 4G61T was on a lift and running to check for an exhaust leak, I noted a clicking sound coming from the transmission. (trans in neutral, engine idling) Pretty much sounded like a noisy lifter, and seemed to be located in the area furthest from the engine.
1. Is this something to be worried about (as in not drive the car until fixed)
2. Are rebuild parts available?
3. I have never done one of these transmissions. Any advice that might not be in the shop manual?

This Colt has approx 105K miles.

I'm sure I'll have other questions....

Thanks,
Alan

This is a known occurrence in DSM transmissions. If I remember correctly, it is caused by the 5th gear wave spring clicking against the cover of the transmission. There is a fix for it but it makes no difference. You can drive the car as it is.
