can you use 2pot calipers in place of the 1g 1 pots, it was never mentioned in this guide:

No, you need a much larger rotor to use the twin piston calipers.

Elantra rotors are like 258mm, Mirage/Colt Turbo are 266m, 1G Talon/Eclipse/Galant VR4 are 276mm IIRC.

Each rotor requires the caliper that is most specific to the original application, barring a few exceptions, but that is the general rule of thumb.

Yes, thats what I used. The stock front calipers from a 94 fwd turbo laser.

Or just do this http://www.4g61t.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=33524 and switch to the dual piston set-up

Another great option, same way just another view is shown in this thread; dual pot VR4 upgrade:

Going this method with floating rotors and a spacer will also set your wheels out the same distance. So figure in a good 10-15mm wider on each side. Not a huge difference or a deal breaker, but keep this in mind.

was up at pull a part getting my calipers for the brake upgrade on the colt, next to the 1g i was stealing parts from there was this guy:

factory awd, no engine or trans but i saw no rust on it either, needs alot of this and that. thought id pass it along, something that hasnt been done in cleveland yet as far as i know.

i ended up getting the passenger side caliper/bracket from a 94 eclipse fwd/t but on the driver side we snapped both bolts and a 3/8's breaker bar! i took the caliper from it anyways, and then took the caliper bracket from the expo in the picture, side by side i can find only minimal differences and the rotors were the same diameter, does anyone know if they are truly interchangeable? visually id say yes, infact im 90% sure but it never hurts to ask.
