Post subject:  Engine Harness Question

Hey all,
Been doing some reading of posts and the archives, basically looking to clarify before I try to purchase a harness. I'm running a 4G61T setup in 91 Colt, I have a 1990 DSM ECU, so I'm in need of a harness. I don't plan on changing over sensor's or anything, so from what I read I need either a 1989 Colt/Mirage turbo Harness or a 1990 DSM harness and as a result it will be just plug and play? A friend of mine gave me a harness, but a few plugs are cut so I'm not sure if it's a 1990 or 91-94. I remember reading somewhere how to spot the differences but I can't find that post right now. Though plugs are cut on the DSM harness, I still have factory plugs from my original 89 turbo harness that I could wire if the harness I have is a 1990. Would anyone be able to help me by looking at a picture of the harness? Or listing the key differences?
thanks in advance

Jim

If you can post up pics of the throttle body connectors, the cas and the coil I can tell you if its a 90 or 91-94.

Also the 90 dsm harness is not plug and play on a csm. Only a turbo c/m harness from an original turbo car will be. The dsm harness is close on the engine side but its completely different where it plugs into the dash harness at.

Thanks for the reply Mirageman, I'll grab some pics tonight or tomorrow when I get a chance. So will a 90 ECU and 89 mirage/colt turbo harness be plug and play in the csm? That's what I would be looking for I would say  unless the free harness I have is useable with minmal hassle.

Cheers,
Jim

Post subject:  Re: Engine Harness Question

if the harness plugs directly into the isc and the cas.. then its a 91-94... if the wires actually some out of both of them then into a plug then its a 90... also look at the coil pak..90 has a square plug..91+ have triangle ones.
