Post subject:  Question about: Crank Angle and TDC sensor vs ECU pinout

Hi,

Base on Vfaq ECU pinout and/or manual shop 90-91 (page 14-33) for 1g turbo DSM:
-The Crank Angle signal is wire to ECU pinout 21.
-And the Top Dead Center signal is wire to ECU pinout 22.

But base on manual shop (page 14-26) for 89 Colt Turbo:
-The Crank Angle signal is wire to ECU pinout 22.
-And the Top Dead Center signal is wire to ECU pinout 21.

They are inverted!

And base on Road Race tech pages for 1g 6bolt swap to 2g:
-All 1g Crank sensor can be used. I assume they have all same output.

The question now:

I want to use 94 DSM Turbo ECU/maf on my Colt 4g63t and remove old 89 ecu/maf.
Also the engine already have a 89-90 Crank Sensor (with long harness plug) on a 89 turbo harness.

When I read the Vfaq, it say if you want to use 91-94 ECU instead of 90 ECU (or maybe 89),
you have to swap only the wire 6 with 14 (idle switch) on ECU!

I never heard about swapping the crank sensor with tdc, but now I'm little confuse?
Should I swap those wires 21 and 22 for Crank & TDC? Somebody here used a 91-94 dsm ecu? Someone did that?

^^^ You need to do this!^^^

Thanks!

Maybe this is an error in 89 turbo manual shop.

Both wires in both manuals have the same color code, base on ecu pinout. 21 Black, 22 white.

Somebody know if the car can start or not if the wires are inverted?

I dont think you'll need to do this TDC/CAS pin swap.

Im running a 89 colt ecu with a 91 dsm harness, I just did the 6/14 pin swap.

I run a 90 Turbo ECU (Naturally Aspirated the same for this portion), with an 89 Colt Turbo harness and no wire swapping is needed.

I think 89-90 ECU are the same at least for pinout, 6 and 14. 91-94 are diff from 89-90 at least for pinout 6-14. For CAS and TDC I try to let them as ease.
