I'm at the point where I need to start figuring out what rad I want to use. As you can see by the pics below I do not have the room for a full size rad. What are you guys using or what do you suggest? I am Considering using an eBay hoda rad. It aluminum and comes with a 12" fan for $80 shipped.

Do you think this will suffice or will I have cooling issues?

We ran a honda radiator on Cheaptalon's old Colt and had nothing but issues keeping the car cool. Running this radiator was much more effiient and provided plenty of space.

Here is another member with this radiator installed on their car.

Whats up twokss.

By your pics... it's unclear if you are still running A/C or if you even had it on the car to begin with .
If you do not have A/C .
Get yourself a full size scirocco aluminum radiator, and you can mount it in the core support.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info guys.

Mr Hyde, my car did have a/c but i ditched it. After seeing your pictures I decided that im going to use the scirocco. Now with that comes a new problem. I have an intercooler from my old talon laying Around with the end tanks facing the motor. I'm not going to be able to use that with the scirocco rad. Any suggestions on a intercooler? Stock evo? Anyone want to buy a Dsm intercooler? Lol

Why not? That radiator is no where near as wide as a stock dsm radiator. We ran a rear inlet/outlet intercooler on Cheaptalon's colt without any issue.

Just make sure the radiator fits in between the two intercooler outlets and all you need to do is trim a little sheet metal for the piping and you're good to go. I basically have the same setup and works great. Here's some pics...

For some reason I was under the impression that the scirocco rad was a bit wider. That's good news then!! One less thing I need to buy. This is the intercooler kit I have...it's for a Dsm so I would assume it will work.

I gutted the foam out of it and tried to make it as light as possible, then used two bolts with washers on the ends by the wheels and the rest is held on by heavy duty zip ties. It's actually on there really well, it's survived 160+ mph pulls, so I think it's fine, but it's just a pain to take off.

You can see it droop a tiny bit but it's not bad at all...

1st and 2nd are still worthless, but it does pretty well in 3rd for having a hx40 on mid 20's boost. The M/T ET streets that are on there are awesome, but the stiff-ass coilovers, solid mount, and lsd insert help alot as well

Great pics WRX110487 :)

The scirrocco radiator is thicker, but not as wide as the DSM/DSM/GVR4 radiators.

If you're on a budget hit the junkyard and look for an early 90's Audi A100. The radiator sits off to the side of the engine bay. I did a write up in the archives a few years ago on how to mount it in a csm.

I have an extra scirocco radiator with the stock fan structure with that little rubber flapping stuff..
Not going to be using it. I put an Integra dual fan'd rad in my mightymax that works great!
I cut down the housing alittle to reduce the fan 'depth' by an inch or so.

I'll try and add some pics with dims.
