I have a 44mm external wastegate that I got from a friend here. I want to install it but don't know where the best or cheapest route to install it is. Does anyone have any suggestions? Where did you put yours?

wrong answer. thats about the worst way to put it on,

punishment racing has a nice recirc o2 housing that replaces the stocker, cut the flapper off our dsm turbo and put it on there. it may not be exactly the cheapest, but its a great option, and much safer than leaning the hell out of number1

This is how I have it set up on my car. This is a lot more work, but it works WAY better than just venting off of one cylinder. Granted, I've vented off just one cylinder in the past and had it work just fine. The "right" way to do it is to have it vent of all 4 cylinders though, which is why it works best to to a collector mount like this, or run something off the turbine housing from the stock wastegate passage.

That is what i've done (but with a custom o2 housing rather than a punishment racing one). Don't forget to open up the stock wastegate hole in the exhaust housing a bit while you're at it, as it's kinda small from factory (20something mm from memory).

This is mine:
