 Post subject: quick radiator question

Is a 1g radiator the same as an 89 colt gt's?

they are very close to being the same but the 4g61t has the radiator cap on the radiator its self ,the 63t cap is mounted to the side of the block

ok, so since i did the 4g63 swap, i can use either one because i have a cap on the water neck. Thats the only diff then?

yes but you will need the 63t hose and if I recall you might need to mod it,sorry its been a long time from memory :o

Yeah, the hose locations are different. You will need to do something about the hoses, but it's not hard at all. The dimensions are also different between the two, but the radiator should fit in there either way, I know there are people on the forum using 1g radiators in their cars.

I used one from a 93+ galant and it was like the 61t radiator, had a cap on top of the rad. The 61t fan shroud did not line up perfectly on it, so it took a bit of modification.
