New member here,my name is Elvin And im from SOCAL(long beach,LA county area)Any shops out here that Deals with these cars?

So i picked up this 55k original milage turbo Mirage
Ive always liked these little cars, but never thought i'd own one.

Yesterday i seen an add on craigslist(orange county) Im located in LA county/Socal so it was close by
I went to check it out and it was prety decent,Interior is freakin ridiculous,so clean!,The body is Fair, little faded.

But anyhow,im already loving this little rocket!
But what i did notice when i was test driving it,You can hear the relay go "Click Click Click" like if its losing ground or something? Then the car wants to bog/Kick/Jerk,maybe even shut off.But it's a Come-And-Go type of thing.I can be driving it and Nothing happens. The car drives perfect!!!!,But out of no where if i get that "Click Click Click" From the relay,it'll want to kick&jerk.

Any ideas?
By the way,are there any Socal People in here?

You only need to make one thread to ask all these questions.

There are a few SoCal guys, a couple of us down in San Diego, one or two people in LA, and a few in NorCal, but these cars seem to have more popularity on the east coast for some reason.

Like I mentioned in your other thread, you could have a toasted ECU, very common problem on the older Mitsus. I would pull the ECU out and open it up and check for leaky capacitors.

As far as your missing windows, try a junkyard as there are usually a lot of base-model Colt/Summit/Mirages there and you can get a window(s) from one of them.

Well, thr ECU isnt toasted... It's toasting... It's TOASTED when the car shuts off and doesnt run anymore..

Buy one ECU to use NOW, and take the one you have and have the capacitors in the ECU replace ASAP>

Best of luck with the new ride !

Im having trouble on where to find a Turbo Ecu at?
Can anyone guide me in the right direction?

I can only use a 89 model mirage/colt ecu(and that has to be turbo only?)

Ahh i feel so helpless right now
I went to go get my windows replaced and they dropped the glass on the floor that they were gonna install, ended up waiting 5 hours for a new glass to arive and Yet they still told me to come back tomorrow like if it wasent an issue to me from all that waiting,F@ggots.

Drove back home mad,What sucked is i almost died from my car cutting out on me,its starting to do it even more now :(

The easiest thing would be to find an ECU from an '89 Mirage Turbo. Yes, it has to be out of a turbo car.

You can use a '90 DSM Turbo ECU as well, but they are calibrated for a larger MAF and injectors, so the car won't run 100% perfect without an S'AFC or something to tune out the difference.

You can also use '91-'94 DSM Turbo ECU's, same rule applies with an S'AFC, and your tach won't work using one of these ECU's.

Check out this thread, I think this guy has the ECU that you need:

You can use EPROM or non-EPROM, it doesn't matter. I would recommend staying away from a 2.0 ECU, especially if it's non-EPROM, because your car will not run properly with this ECU unless you make adjustments to the fuel mixture.

1.6 Turbo = 390cc injectors and small MAF

2.0 Turbo = 450cc injectors and bigger MAF

So unless you put a 2.0 MAF and 450cc injectors in your car at the same time that you change the ECU, your car will not run right, unless you get an S'AFC and tune it out yourself. A 1.6 Turbo ECU is the only ECU you can run that will be plug & play.

Here's another 1.6 Turbo ECU for sale:
