well i finally went out and got the thing and when i took the car to the shop they stripped the old one while trying to get it out. now i have a dead o2 sensor stuck in my manifold, and they said that the only thing i can do is take the manifold, turbo, and o2 sensor housing off as one unit and maybe theyll be able to do it then. I'm thinking that while i ve got it off why not just buy a 2nd gen manifold and o2 housing and put that on, but will it fit all together if im still using a 11b, and will the 2nd gen o2 housing bolt up to my stock down pipe? this is becoming a night mare, my insurance is up soon and i cant pass the smog test without a new o2 sensor. thanks for any input guys.

Truth is you will have a hell of a time just trying to wrench it out. You'll probably have to resort to removing it by all means neccesary. I can't get mine out so I'm using it as an excuse to get an Evo III sensor housing.

do you know if the EVO III sensor housing will bolt up to a 11b and the stock exhaust down pipe, that would be an awesome upgrade, but whats the cost of the thing

Ask Ricehunter how easy this is...even with the whole thing out and on a bench, he had to heat it till it was literally red hot around it to get the bloody thing out. That's what I get for going 138000 km without touching it. Copious amounts of anti-sieze were used that day, I assure you.

the evo dump will not fit the 11b, its too big! even if youve got a 14b, the rest of the exhaust doesnt bolt up to the evo dump. Im running an evo2 dump on mine with a ported 14b housing.

I bought my o2 housing or dump pipe (as we aussies call it) for $60AUD

unless the 2g is running a td04 it wont fit. The td04 and tdo5 dump pipe/o2 sensor housings are totally different sizes.

ok then will a 1st gen eclipse o2 housing fit onto the 11b? If none of this will work then i guess im gonna have to pull everything and just massage the dead one out , i was hoping i could just buy another housing. Thanks in advance.

I think a 1G automatic one will fit. I'm not positive on that. Have you soaked it in penetrating oil? Let it soak and keep spraying it for a few days. Also, you can try to cut the wires and put a real socket on it, to try to break it loose. The o2 sensor socket will expand with a large amount of force on it.
