Yesterday on my way home from work I developed an exhaust leak. I was hoping to find a missing bolt or something of that nature. No such luck...here is what I found:

So yeah...broke right off the flange. Great stuff I tell you!
Take a guess what brand it is...not that it will be hard to figure it out lol.
So anyways..Obviously I need a new one. I need to go the cheapest way I can, but I don't wanna be doing this again in 6 months. So whats a good brand that is decently priced with decent quality? Maybe I should just get a cast manifold instead?

If you want something durable, but don't want to shell out lots of money, then cast is your only option.

Check out the Forced Performance cast race manifold. I'm sure you couldn't go wrong with that. It's sick!

Yeah the fp cast mani is nice. Not affordable at the moment lol. What would be the best cast manifold for me to get as far as a factory one? 2g eclipse?

Evo 3 is the best, but 1/2G models all bolt right up to the 4g61T with no issues. I'm not sure if the collector point is raised or lowered, as I had trouble using my 2.5" exhaust made for the 4g61t deck heigh, when I installed my 4g63t, but I stayed with the 1G Manifold through the whole process. Generally I think the cast pieces from Mitsu keep the turbo located in the same place because the lines for oil and water have to stay similarily spaced IIRC.

Not sure if it's still going, but 3 weeks ago I got an EVO 3 manifold from RRE. It was a VERY competitive price. I'd give them a call. The reason OEM's use cast iron for manifolds IS cost and durability... I suggest you do the same.

Yeah, I had a 2G exhaust manifold on my Turbo Mirage for over a year, and it held up perfectly. No cracks, and I was boosting 18psi regularly. However, the Evo 3 manifold is more durable and has slightly bigger runners than the 2G exhaust manifold.

Who told you the EVO III manifold was more durable? They're the same thing. The EVO III just has a slightly larger collector, perhaps the center divider is a tad more beefy.
