Doin the swap and I'm not sure how my ECU is going to work with the 2 litre. How will the timing maps be different and can I compensate somehow? Tuning with maf-t and also have eprom . A friend wants me to go DSM Link, but I'd rather not get too involved(laptop, etc). |

The timing maps should be similar, I wouldn't even be concerned with it. As long as you have a MAF-T and you can compensate for whatever injectors you're using that's all that matters. I'd recommend getting an S'AFC to fine tune the car.

Well, the maf-t compensates nicely for my 650's, as its a draw thru system and seems to tune nicely as my combo with the '61t gave me 280 whp on a Mustang dyno. those that are using a flashed ecu, is that working well and recommended?? I've not had my eprom upgraded, and wondering if it's worthwile. |

I'm not sure what you mean by upgraded EPROM. If the EPROM is "flashed", then it's upgraded, ya know? That's pretty good power, so you're definitely doing something right. I'd convert to blow-thru ASAP though, because it's much better.

No , I've not had the eprom flashed, just not sure what I would want changed. I know that blow thru would allow me to vent, but I'm too old for rice, why do you like it? |

There are a ton of other advantages to running blow-thru aside from being able to vent the BOV. Since the MAF is located up near the throttle body, you can blow off an IC pipe and the car will still run (unless you blow off the one between the MAF and the TB). It also improves airflow in your intake pipe since you don't have a MAF in front of the turbo anymore, and IMO improves throttle response dramatically. There's honestly no reason not to do it.If you're gonna have the EPROM flashed the most obvious things you'd wanna do are increased rev limiter, fuel cut elimination, injector compensation, phantom knock elimination etc, etc. You can discuss it with Jeff O. to custom tailor a chip to your needs. The things he can do to your EPROM are virtually limitless. |

Ogay, good points about the eprom, I'll have to look into it. I'm still not convinced about the blow thru, as many have said on other forums that it can be tricky to tune that way, although maybe those are people that couldn't tune either way. |

No, it isn't tricky to tune that way. Whoever told you that must not have any clue what they're doing. Just try it, I'm willing to bet you'll love it and you'll never look back.

Wade there is a list of things that Jeff O did for my Eprom chip: Quote: So, the GF goes to the mailbox last night and low and behold, she finds my ECU and Chip delivered at last! Jeff Oberholtzer swirled up a whole lot of stuff for me on this one. Here is what the card reads:

Thanks Tim, almost forgot you had that done. I'm gonna stick in the '63t and run it for a bit to get a feel for it, then seriously consider some changes like eprom. How is your build up coming? |
