| Post subject: | O2 sensor issues |
ok folks, i didnt kno that mitsu O2 sensors came in such a variety for our engine models. at home i have the following: 4 wire o2 sensor from a usdm TD04-13g. 2 wire o2 sensor from a jdm TD04-13g. 1 wire o2 sensor from a jdm TD04-11b. the 3rd sensor is the one i presently have on my car and the intention was to swap it out due to the damage which may have occured with my oil smoking turbo. question is, are any of the other sensors directly compatible? if not, can i clean my existing sensor? i heard that some vinegar isnt such a bad thing but im not 100% sure. the 2 wire sensor to me would be the easiest to swap, but what's confusin me is what the heck those other wires are for thanks.. |

As far as i know, that 4-wire sensor is heated... I have universal 2-wire O2 sensor on my oil-burning 4G15, works just fine. Can take pics if needed... |

Yes. All 4-wire 02 sensors are heated. That's what the extra wires are for, the heater circuit.

the o2 sensor will not start to cycle properly until it reaches a certain temperature so the only downside to the non heated sensor is that it may take an extra minute or 2 before your ECU goes into closed loop operation |

ok..just want to be clear...all the o2 sensors i have here WILL work properly with the difference being delays in reading accurately due to the absence of heating element. so i should use which? 2 wires seems less complicated ... what is the secondary wire for in this case? and any comments on o2 cleaning? thanks.. |

i dunno how much luck you are gonna have with cleaning an o2 sensor i would probably just try a shot or two of brake cleaner and a rag |
