I want to change my stock intake manifold and throttle body on my 4g63t colt. Which is one of the best out there.

The stock throttle body can support a LOT of power, but upgrading to a 75mm Mustang throttle body is the most popular thing to do. As far as intake manifolds these days, the best one out there for the money in my opinion is the JMFabrications Intake Manifold. $450 or $500 if you want it polished and he'll flange it to whatever throttle body you decide to run.

Geez. A75mm throttle body seems very large. If you need that size to get all the air in you will also need 750 injectors, oversize valves to let the mix in, 272 cams to keep the ovr. syz. valves open longer, ported exhaust and larger mannifold to get the burn out, a 3"downpipe out, about 2.5" ID charge piping, and at least a 20g turbo, with at least a 50 trim, and a stand alone engine mgmnt. system. Oh, and you better be able to get rid of the extra heat. I have all those supporting mods, and I "only" have a 70mm T/B. Even so, street transitions are not easy. Just a slight crack and a whole lot of air comes in. Frankly, I have never topped out. In fact, I am seriously considering going down to a 65mm. From this, I think that anything from 70 over is overkill. IMHO

Stock intake and manifold can handle damn near 500 hp...... Get close to that level and THEN consider upgrading. No need to upgrade now when chances are you're not close.

Maybe you are, but what I'm getting @ is dont spend money where you
DONT have to just yet.


FWIW, the Magnus SMIM is one of the BEST on the market. Lots of tangible evidence is on the net to support it as one of the best.
Wilson Manifolds makes one of the best 70mm + T/B's too.
Why? THEY DONT BREAK !!

or if your a baller then get a q45 tb its 90 mm screw a mustang tb

I've known people that have broken Wilson throttle bodies. I've never known anyone that's broken a Q45, and they're like half the price of a Wilson or similar Mustang throttle body. Touch decision. I think the Q45 is probably TOO big for a 2.0 liter engine, or even a 2.4 liter engine for that matter (if there is such a thing as too big), but the price is right and it is an extremely nice throttle body. I have one waiting to go on my car with a Forrester Racing Manifold, I'm eager to see how it all works. I paid less than $120 shipped for my Q45 throttle body w/ sensors, and they go for that much on eBay all day long.

I like the JMFabrications manifold a lot more than the Magnus, although the Magnus has certainly proven itself, the JMFab manifold is much cheaper and has supported several cars well into the 150mph traps.
