What do you have to grind off of the 2G manifold to get it to bolt to the 4G61?

If you are standing at the front of the car, you need to grind off the lower right hand corner of the head flange. It hits the mount for the side motor mount.

There is a vfaq on this.

Thanks Ben, I found it.

Does the manifold "need" to be ported in order to line up with the runners on the engine? Is it okay to put it on there unported?

Well, I don't know. The only manny I've ever put on a 1.6 was ported. I am not sure how the exhaust ports from a 1.6 line up to a 2G manifold. Let us know.

I just ported my head to the gasket on my 1.6. as well as my 1g manny. I read somewhere that the 2g's don't need as much porting as the 1g's.
