What do owners of this engine do with their cracked exhaust manifolds? I'm assuming this as mine is always cracking and welding does nothing in short order |

Yeah, what 2.0pwrdc50 said. The 4G61 exhaust manifolds are just like the 90-94 Eclipse/Talon/Laser manifolds. The cast iron they're made from is very crappy and loves to crack over time. They revised this for the 2nd-Gen cars (95-99) Eclipses and Talons, and those exhaust manifolds very rarely crack. You can usually find them from $50-150 depending on if they've already been ported or not. |

Where might i find a good 14B turbo? My current setup routes the oil line to the oil filter assembly for cooler oil flow. Would this neccitate change from this setup? Thanks for your help all. Also, since I'm broken down in Bay Area California, I have a local mechanic working on my car. He just sent my turbo out for R&R. Might be difficult to change directions at this point unless it's faily painless solution. |

eBay is a good place to start. Sometimes people have them up for sale on this site, and other sites like DSMTuners and such. Your oil line coming from the filter housing is fine, but you will need different water feed/drain lines and you might need a different oil return line since your stock turbo uses a different center cartridge than a 14b turbo.

I don't recommend buying that manifold, it'll crack faster than any stock Mitsubishi manifold out there. It's made out of materials that are less than desireable. That 14b looks ok though. This is what you wanna be looking for in terms of a manifold: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2G-DSM-E ... 3398QQrdZ1 |

Just to be sure, will this fit our stock 4G61 motor? It shows fitament as a 95-99 Eclipse. Sure looks like this will work but... |

4g61 exhaust side will fit 1G 90-94, and 2G 95-99 exhaust manifolds like they came from the factory that way. They will possibly tilt the turbo ever so slightly, but nothing you cannot compensate for. It is the single best upgrade you can do to make the area flow better, and possibly flow more than money you can throw at upgrades for the first little while. |

Alot of people are forgetting that you cant just bolt a 14B on a 4G61T without fuel-mods as well, ie 450's and an AFC at a minimum. |

you don't need an safc, just put the 14b along with the 1g maf, 450 injectors and maybe a 1g ECU and you're all set... but putting in a SAFC wouldn't hurt either |
