Hello, i'm from spain. I've a Mitsu colt C51, 1,3 carburettor. This car don't exist in spain only in canary islands and is very dificult find any parts. I have a hyundai lantra's engine 1.6 16V (4g61), and i want to swap this engine but today i open the engine and the piston 1 is damaged. this have piston slap. If i buy a new pistons set I solve the problem? This piston have a broken valve too....

it could only be a ding in the top of the piston from the valve hitting it. you should be able to use the bottom end the way it is. since you have the head off look at the cross-hatching on the cylinder walls and see if it is still there. if it looks to be in good shape that I would think you could re-use the bottom end and get a new valve and probably valve guide installed at a machine shop. but since I can't see the top of the piston like you can its hard to judge.

No the problem isn't in the top of piston.

this is my problem: Piston slap is nothing new to piston driven internal combustion engines and compressors. It is the secondary (sideways or perpendicular) movement of a piston against the side of a cylinder bore where the primary movement of a piston is intended to be parallel (up and down) to the cylinder bore. All piston driven internal combustion engines and compressors have a certain amount of piston slap.
Excessive piston slap occurs when the clearance between the piston and the cylinder bore is too great. The piston to cylinder bore clearance becomes too great either through wear, mismatched pistons and cylinder bores at manufacturing or, a combination of both.

the valve is broken too but it don't hit with the piston.

thanks Mr. dictionary, I know what piston slap is I just wasn't sure if you meant the valve hit the piston because of your busted valve. piston slap is just signs of a warn out engine. get the whole thing rebuilt
