hey mother truckers!

i am gonna be using tunerpro rt in combination with the Moate's Ostrich rom emulator to retune the colt, and i am wondering if anyone has figured out what the load cells actually represent... and if these load values can be directly datalogged... so far i am only able to guess which load cell i am in.
any insight would be greatly appreciated....

My friend runs the romulator in his car and I tuned it using tunerpro rt.

I am about to set it up in my car. I tuned his car using load, need to datalog load through pocketlogger or mmcd, then you can tune the timing/fuel that way, its quite efficient and very simple. The only problem with tunerpro, besides not being able to log, is that you can't highlight multiple cells at one time and change their value, you have to change one value at a time. They are coming out with a new version of tunerpro rt over the summer that will allow you to log also, this will in fact allow the user more flexibility than dsmlink but at a third of the cost. We wrote stutterbox code in assembler as well. Getting the thing to emulate every time is not possible, and you have to check to make sure all the source goes through when you emulate. Sometimes it will leave out part of the MAF code for some reason, but it has a function that'll let you check to make sure everything changes properly. Good luck, and if you have anymore questions I'll try my best to answer them.

did your datalogging program show the load row value displayed in tunerpro (low,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,high) or did you have to log timing and look at the timing values and find out what load cell you were in?

i hope that that question made sence.....

The load units are in g/rev I believe. Its on a different scale, something like 0-255 probably, and we had to scale that to the 0-11 of the tunerpro by making some pulls and looking at the timing and its corresponding load point so we could figure out the pocketlogger scale compared to the tunerpro scale. There was definitely some guestimation going on but the cells gradually change. You won't go up one load point and look at the timing at the same RPM and have a totally different values, the map will gradually change. I can send you the bin from his car if you want. Its basically stock except a big 16g, boost controller, and 2.5" turbo back. We got the car to pull its ass off midrange on 17psi, especially for what it is. I was totally surprised how well I got the car to respond with fuel and timing adjustments over different load points. I'll dig up some more info for you.

holy post back from the dead....

hey what logger program has these load values in it? I checked out the pocketlogger stuff but the "airflow" or "air volume" (can't remember, the one that doesn't show Hz) started at 0 and only went to about 4 or 5? My version of MMcD doesn't have this function on it.

Sorry I missed this but I was just doing some searching and came across it. MMcd has a custom sensor option, click on E3 and label it "LOAD", then just log E3 and it will display a 0-255 value so you know which load row you are at at what RPM.

well i think i found out how to enable the custom sensor, but oddly there was only 2 values that it would display:

144- this was during warm up, idle, cruising and full WOT thru the rev range.
20- decel with injectors off.

now this seems odd to me considering that the car would be running off of essentially one load row and having fueling and timing based solely on rpm.

i am using a maft and a gm 3" maf with 550cc injectors.

maybe you could post up how to properly select the custom sensor? maybe i'm a tool and didnt do the setup correctly.

That's strange. What version MMcd do you have? I checked off the E3 sensor under custom sensors and all it should display is a 0-255 value. Perhaps check off E2 on mmcd and log it?

well i figured it out, i installed the newest version 1.7xxxxxxx. The load sensor output is actually E2, and not E3. works well now...

Glad you got it to work. I think I run version 1.8g if memory serves correct. Its a custom spin-off of the version you have done by a dsm-ecu list guy. So how well is the tuning coming now that you know which load row you are on?
