Well I went to the junkyard today and found a 2G 1989 Colt turbo.... SEDAN (4DR) with the g32b turbo engine. I looked at the axles and to my surprize it apeared to use the SAME axles as my 4g61t 89 Colt GT. I removed the axles and took some pics and measured them up to make sure they would work. Looks like "2jdapo" is right!! g32b axles WILL work. (not 100% yet)
From looking at them they are the correct length and have the same shaft diameter as the 3G colt 4g61t ones as well
Anyways,
Here is what the colt looked like I pulled the axles from (just a generic pic)
Here is a pic I took of its enginebay
Here are some pics I took once I got the axles removed from the 2G colt and was able to compare them to some 1G DSM axles I had laying around.
The 2G colt g32b axles and intermedate shaft.
Here I am comparing the passenger side g32b axle (top one) with a 1G turbo DSM axle. Notice how the DSM axle is a bit longer then 2G g32b colt's axle. The 2G colt g32b colt axles are the same length as 3G colt 4g61t axles
Here you can see how the area where the dust seal rides is larger on the DSM axle then the g32b 2G colt axle... The colt axle is the same size as my 3G axles... so it will bolt right into my 3g 4g61t colt's hub and work perfect! ( i hope) The Colt axle is on the left side
Here is comparing the g32b tranny side CV to a 1G DSM axle. They are the same.... so the g32b axles should bolt into my 89 Colt GT km210 tranny perfect. the colt axle is on the right side and dsm axle on the left
And here you can see how the g32b intermediate shaft is different from a 4g61t/1G DSM awd intermediate shaft. Lucky the g32b driver side short axle slides/attaches pefect to a 4g61t/1Gdsmawd intermediate shaft.
Ill let you guys know how it goes with these axles.
