is the clutch an oem replacement for the 1.6 flat flywheel or for a stepped dsm flywheel?

if it is flat, the swap to a stepped dsm flywheel and a stock type dsm clutch could easily hande another 100lb/ft of torque.

fwiw, a fwd dsm flywheel will work fine, i never had any problems running one in my km210 trans.

and the clutch will last a long time, even at a higher torque rating. mine lasted fine, til i snapped the 3/4 shift fork with it in 4th gear. the drive home through red lights finished the clutch off.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I try really hard to resist going crazy with the car because it HAS to be my reliable daily driver first. I just refuse to drive something everyday that's a bore to drive. I drive 100mi a day and fuel is expensive here which is why I want to keep mileage at 40mpg, no less if I can help it.

I may try a big turbo someday but for now I guess I'll focus on body work that I want done. I still think I can gain even more economy with a landspeed style front fascia and side skirts.

I'd like to get some lapping days in at The Ridge this year, it's close to my house. I might do some 1/4mi runs but what's the point unless I buy slicks. I don't care to run any 14.5@115mph runs. Ha.

It has the flat 215mm setup, not the stepped DSM one. It's an Exedy OEM replacement. I have a new fwd DSM stepped flywheel already so when this clutch goes I will just upgrade then. I'm still not sure if I like the f5m33 tranny I recently installed. I may rebuild the km210 and put that back in instead. I'm going to do some economy testing with smaller diameter tires to see if I get better mpg with higher or lower rpm.

[quoteI put my Colt on the dyno recently and I'm just looking to see if there is any room for improvement. Here are the specs: 1.6L with Wiseco 10:1 pistons, 1.8L head (small combustion chamber with 1g 2.0L size runners), HKS 264/272 cams, 2.0L intake & TB, 2.5" ic pipes, Supra smic, small 16g, 1000cc hi-Z injs, walbro 255, 3" downpipe, no cat and 2.5" full exhaust, Link V3 on speed density with/dual maps for E85 and 92oct. I think that's about it.][/quote]

Which pistons are these? Are the an off the shelf Wiseco? what is the bore and compression?

Have you found the time yet and what did you answer on the other forum?

The pistons were custom made by Wiseco. None of the piston manufacturers had made any 10:1 4g61t pistons before. The valve reliefs are big enough for 272 cams, I don't know the specs. I had them moly coated skirts. I don't know anymore of the specs, English Racing built the engine.

Here is what my little 1.6L did through an automatic transmission. This is what the curve on it looked like. Stock DSM turbo cams, 14b turbo, all stock 4G61 N/A motor from valve cover to oil pan(9.2:1 compression). The cams and the turbo were all the mods that car had. And I only put the cams in because I had to do a timing belt on it. The cams were .01" taller on the lobes.
