So, what process is the motor undergoing when you are redoing the reciprocating assembly and rings? Light hone, then install? More than that ..... ? |

Nothing big, I just put in the n/a 1.6 pistons in last winter and just resused the rings and once the roll cage was done and I tried to go all out at the track, I found I couldn't build much boost, and it took forever. So I am just going to put new rings and head gasket on my car and make passes till she blows. then going big.... |

I know that this is an old thread, but I own a 92 elantra. I have in front of me a set of .5mm o/s rings made by Nippon (NPR). The part number for these rings, which are for a G4CR Hyundai engine, Normally aspirated, is: RS5005S .50 SWM31071-2 After closer inspection, there was a sticker on top of the sticker... Underneath it says it fits a 4G63K and says that they are 85mm dia. Just makes me glad I bought hastings! They make rings for everything, google it. I hope I'm not too late to help. edit: If you need me too, I will dig out the hastings rings for my G4CR and give you the part number. Just let me know. |

I opened those rings and with my caliper, uncompressed, they measure at about 82mm. Give or take the plastic wrapper. If you still need a set, we can work something out. As I said, I plan to run Hastings rings in my J1. |
