Got a new car, it runs and drives pretty well just need a little attention and it should run for a while. It's got 132k on the clock.

I knew I should have checked the air filter when buying it but assumed it would be at least in one piece.

They change the plugs.. and the oil. I put my cap n rotor and wires off my 3g, disconnected battery for 30 min put them onto the 4g then let it idle for 5 min. Got new cap n rotor coming tomorrow.

Put blacked out exhaust mani heat shield on 4g.

Breaking the 3g down.

Thanks guys, I am pretty happy with the car. Here's a few more pics.

Good Ole 3 speed. Still working out why it's over filled. I drained a quart or so and it's still over filled cold, and hot.

Very clean dash no cracks anywhere.

Minimal rust, 2 doors 2 many, evo 3 one day, put 04 cobalt 15 steelies on the rear.

Lol I was really thinking about buying that car as a donor for all of my evo 3 body and suspension parts.
I came very close to pulling the trigger although I am glad I had second thoughts since I have waaay to many projects as it is but car looks clean glad it was sold to a member here.

I have been messing with the car and found a few things that I was wondering were standard or not.

Sticker under the hood leads me to believe it's in compliance with CA emission standards.

ECU comes up when searched online as an EPROM but for fed emissions.

What looks like an egr solinoid and sensors.

I'm wondering, is this car CA emissions. How do I change my EPROM settings or where can I go.

When you checked the trans fluid, it was running (in park) and hot, correct?

Yes I did all of the above. I have kept an eye on it since to see if it was a case of it being leaky and it being overfilled at sale (like engine oil) but haven't seen the level change at all. I'm more concerned about every time I put gas in the car it leaks when filling, the oil pan and seems the head under the distributor is leaking.

When I put the new pcv valve in I got some power back but this engine still is lacking, 98 percent of the vacuum lines look new, I'm wondering if my egr solinoid needs cleaned or replaced/head gasket.

Maybe a lot of the (disappeared) air filter ended up in the throttle body :o

I thought about that possibility aswell, I ran seafoam through the engine and delivered it into the throttle body. I forget the exact seafoam but it comes with a large straw to spray into throttle body. Which also helped throttle response

I have ran a can of seafoam in the tank and also a big bottle of Lucas deep clean to make sure my fuel system is all good. It still has a rough idle in d. Could it be bad torque converter, bad egr, clogged throttle body, head gasket leaking, no smoke and coolant looks good
