Ok guys I have been looking around and I can't seem to find what I am actually looking for, I am running an awd transmission out of a 92 talon in my 89 4g63 swaped mirage. I have the factory turbo mirage shifter cables and shifter base. But I am wondering what bracket I need for on the transmission. I have seen where they talk about useing the factory turbo shift levers but I don't remember haveing to run them on my old colt when I had it 6 or 7 years ago. I just know there are a couple diffrent combinations of brackets out there. But I was wondering if some one could let me in on what one would be the correct one I use. Pictures would be helpful to.. Thanks |

You need the bracket that bolts to the trans case that holds the cables on, the lever that is bolted on and the one that is welded on. I did a write-up in the archive on how to swap these out. These parts need to come from any 3g csm with a manual trans, turbo or na does not matter. |

Yea I have seen that but I never had to do that on my old setup, was wondering if anyone else is running the awd factory trans levers and not swapping them out? |

Not that I know of. To my knowledge you have to swap the levers to run the stock csm shifter and cables. Were you using a dsm shifter and cables on your last swap? |

I don't believe I was, but if I was to run the dsm shifter base and cables do I not need to modify the the shifter arms? |

I used the CSM setup and just cut the shift arm of the shifter rods on the original transmission. I then removed the ones on the AWD transmission and welded the CSM parts to the AWD shift rods.Mark |

Easiest way to do it without cutting and welding. Note you still need the up/down CSM lever that bolts onto the trans though. http://www.4g61t.org/forum/viewtopic.ph ... it=shifter just noticed we bumped an old thread.... |

No biggie, I'm sure this info will help someone else who searches in the future. I can't imagine trying to bend that thick shift lever with a pair of visegrips but it looks like it worked out well. It's always nice seeing people doing things differently. |
