Jason-I assume you have not touched the doors? Are they power or manual? The 4 doors are a bit heavier as is-and you have 100 lbs in metal int he door bars, and rear bumper on that car-more if its power windows.

I started this thread as a point of reference for the future, and to see if I can achieve my tentative goals with a Colt Body. Right now, it looks like I wont be able to :(

You can get close, but I don't think its going to happen with glass still in the car. Short of moving to fiberglass and lexan , then I think you can hit your goals easily.

Yes, but even gutted with a cage, its going to be really tuff to be 2k. I would like to keep the glass, roll up windows, ect. Street cars are my thing after all :)

Not sure where you guys are losing 500lbs.

Mine is 2990 sedan with me in it and a full tank of gas. No front bumper support, still has a/c, power steering and full interior with full 3" exhaust.

With the new aluminum exhaust I'm guessing I lost 30-40lbs easy. Not sure what else I can strip out.

I will be doing a full rewire and unnecessary bracketry and metal removal over winter.
With me in it I would be 26xx, I don't have heat, A/C, power steering, or power anything. All the brackets under the dash are removed, kirkey aluminum seats, fuel cell, and both bumpers removed.

Update, I weighed the car again at Norwalk this year. The only difference being the rear bumper reinforcement is gone and I now had a 4" aluminum cat back vs. a "heavy" stainless steel 3" catback.

The scale said 2785 without me and 2975 with me. So I only lost 15lbs or so

That's surprisingly heavy. People get 1g's down to similar weight, but I doubt they have full interior and working A/C.

just want to add some weights to this list for those who care,

Rear quarter glass on a 3g is 10 pounds, excluding the trim

Front radiator support is 6 pounds

Rear hatch with colt filler panel and glass is 38 pounds, includes hinges. 15 pounds without glass

Post subject:  Re: AWD WEIGHT

yes. they are around 2875 stock. so it takes some effort to lighten them up without tearing them up. . but boy is it worth it. best car on the planet hands down. if you want to read what was removed I kept good thread of mods on evolutionm.

That's basically the same as my sedan with AWD swap with me in it. Interesting.
