Even if it works you will still need a front motor mount. Just make the crossmember.

im doing an awd swap on my 89 colt hatch i was wondering if you guys think i can make a bracket off of the power stearing rack mounting point for my rear motor mount i dont want to weld a bracket for my rear motor mount? |

if you look at it there is a lot of metal there i was just wanting to see what you guys thought of it and you can take it out because its not fixed |

LOL at that comment. Look at pictuers of "GSX'' awd build. Its had over 100 low 10sec passes on it. and no issues at all |
