Great set-up. I am seriously thinking about doing a AWD swap now.

Very nice piece! I have one of the originals (OEM piece) that I haven't installed yet. Has anyone figured out wether or not the rear mount will fit past a stock turbo sway bar? I've held my piece under the car, and it just doesn't look like there's enough room for it to fit behind the differential with the sway bar there. Evo-mirage says it's the same, but I just don't see it.

The USDM sway bar, is the same is the JDM bar. YES the OEM AWD crossmember will clear the bar. :)

That's cool. I can't picture it, but I hope it fits. Someday I'll find time to clean it up, paint it, and toss it in there.

Thanks

Take another look at your swaybar the next time you are under your car. It has a hump in the design exactly where the t-fer case would reside. You'll be fine, and wont have any clearance issues if you decide to use the 1G AWD tranny and t-fer case :)

Well they did :) It's just cheaper to have one-car-fits all rather than having a FWD chassis/parts and an AWD chassis/parts.

I own a genuine factory 4WD 1990 Mirage that used to be a diesel but now has a 4G63.The 4WD front swaybar is definately different from the FWD bar and the front lower wishbones are also different. You can't use FWD wishbones with a 4WD front swaybar.I tried and it doesn't work as the wishbones are shaped differently and the swaybar links are in a different position on the wishbone.

I have a crossmember that Miragetbo1997cc made for me. Just installed it yesterday and it fit perfect. We just had to turn it to get the rear mount past the transfer case. It took longer to move the jack stand that was in the way then it did to put the crossmember in. Thanks man!!!

The thing I can't see fitting, is the part where the OEM rear engine mount pedestal goes up behind the front differential. There's a tiny space between the differential and the steering rack, and the sway bar goes right through the middle of there. It kinda looks like the rear mount pedestal goes through the middle of there too. I have room for the transfer case I think.

This setup does not use the stock rear crossmember location. It uses the two bolt holes toward the pass side for rear mounting and motor mount extention goes in from the pass side of transfer case. Also rear engine bracket is inverted to provide clearance past transfer case. Clears everything including sway bar. Hope this helps.

I'm glad it worked out for your. I knew it would fit perfect. In the picture you can see the bolt holes for the awd crossmember.
