What, no garage? I couldn't imagine doing something of that magnitude outside.

Just be glad you live further south, I know some here are from Alaska (couldn't imagine that :o ), but we had -39 Fahrenheit last week. That is one reason its taking me a while.

Alright, so before this thread goes completely awry, lets see if people have anymore info pertaining to AWD systems and whether they regret any portion of what they have built or want to build. Hmmmm. 8)

Does anyone have a picture of what is left of your trunk space?

Just imagine the entire trunk flat all the way across.

The more you guys talk, the more i feel that the AWD swap is THE way to go...

How about the fuel tank? Can the stock fuel tank be reused and mounted in stock position on a c52/53 body style?

I guess not since you need to modify the trunk floor.

The fuel tank is the reason the trunk is flat all the way across. Cant use the stock position because the driveshaft/diff is in the way.

You could find a fuel cell to stick in the stock spare tire well and you wouldn't have to cut anything out really aside from the diff mount.

GVR4 gas tank fits *perfect*. I'll snap some pictures when I get home.
1G AWD tank is too tall and pudgy. GVR4 tank is a nice big rectangle. Can pretty much lay down a piece of sheet metal across the frame rails and weld it to the car.

I used a 1g AWD tank. Seems to work alright for me. I'll snap pictures later.

what struts did you use? I used the stock colt struts with the AWD lower bushings. I got my Coilovers adjusted all the way UP. and its still slammed.
